Eisen show - QB Guru Jordan Palmer on Darnold
I don't usually post links - hope this works.
I think I got it edited correctly
"QB Guru Jordan Palmer on Sam Darnold - Rich Eisen show."
I disagree on one thing. Darnold won't win Comeback Player of the Year, because technically, you have to have been good at one point for it to qualify as a “comeback.” Cousins or Rodgers likely get that. But Darnold could win most improved award, which is what Baker Mayfield and Geno Smith got.
More on Sammy D....

I want a fun 24 after a difficult 23.
Darnold doest need to be Rogers.
If KOC can keep him to 30 or fewer throws, A Jones is effective, we dont lose Addison/TJH for too long and the D doesnt suck?
We could surprise.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

— Ivan, Czar of Bohunks (@Up4Discussion_7) March 13, 2024As mentioned in the 1st video, Darnold really does throw a lot of those roll-left, throw-right things. The arm talent is there in spades. Can KOC coach the ghosts out of his head?
I guess for me, big expectations means something more than making the playoffs and losing your first game. It means he would do enough to have a chance at surpassing JJM as the starter for 2025.
I’m not as high on the Bears or Packers as the national media is, and I think there’s a very real possibility that the Vikings as a team could make the playoffs without needing to be all-world or anything, and I could see him getting most improved or something like that. Mostly I’m moderating my expectations, and going along for the ride.

That's a throw of confidence, a beautiful thing. Nice arm talent. If he can pull it off, it will be because of early success. That's imperative. Needs to come out hot.
His physical talent jumps out at you when you watch. That's why he keeps getting chances. Most guys with his track record would not be signed to start for 10 mil in year 7. They probably wouldn't be signed period, they'd be valeting cars at the local casino.
Unfortunately he's kind of the guy with the million dollar arm and the ten cent head.
It’s the accuracy I’ve had issues with, but Palmer does make some good points. I hadn’t thought about it, but he’s really never been on a good team where he was starting. It’s a huge opportunity for him and hopefully he takes it and runs with it. It’s a great opportunity for a nice contract next year somewhere else. Hopefully he can play solid. If he can do that, this team has the talent to run.
