I think we gotta keep Hall on the 53
What say you?
Depth for 24, young back-up to JJM in 25?
Certainly going to know the playbook.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
I didn't get to see the game yet, just some highlights... but after a shaky first preseason game, he definitely is in an upward trajectory these past two games.
With Darnold far from a lock to remain the season long starter, I think it would be wise to keep both Mullens and Hall on the 53.
He's definitely worth keeping as at least a QB3 for this season, because we know that Mullens destroys the hopes that he builds.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....
He will either be cut or put on the practice squad. Do you think he has the potential or opportunity to be an NFL starter?
He seems to be playing with a little more confidence now, which is great to see. Might be a valuable piece for us in 2025. Still, I think he's destined for the practice squad. He's no threat to Mullens and no team is going to put him on their active roster to prevent us from putting him on our PS.
Keep Hall. I really do like him as a backup for JJ next season. Mullens turns the ball over way too much. Another year in the system and I think Jaren has a great foundation to stand upon as JJ’s backup. He definitely takes care of the ball better than Mullens.
SKOL VIKINGS :P

We will lose Hall and Corral off the practice squad. Nobody in their right mind will sign Mullens.
No way would we lose Corral off the practice squad. He was a FA during preseason and showed nothing while on the Vikings roster. I question whether he will be on any practice squad. It's possible the Vikes put him on the practice squad, but I have my doubts.
Keep Hall. Last year we had to trade for Dobbs because Kirk and Mullens were both injured at the same time and the only active QB on the roster was Hall. And that was with 3 QBs on the 53. Having only 2 is putting yourself only 1 play away from having no backup QB. In addition, his last 2 games have looked good enough that I think someone would poach him if they try to sneak him to the PS.

I didn't think Hall played great, but he was serviceable. With JJM out all year, not sure why there'd be a doubt about keeping him.
There isn't. I don't know why this is even a debate. If we keep 3 he'll be one of 'em. If we keep 2, he'll go on the practice squad. Sounds there is some concern he could get poached from the PS, but I don't think this is very likely.
Given how we went through four (FOUR! Remember that?) starting QB's last season, my sense is that Hall played serviceably well enough to not be parked on the PS. If for no other reason that he played serviceably enough to gain notice to other QB-deficient teams.
He will be one of the 53, and worst-case PS.
I think it depends on the reported leg injury. If it’s something that is going to linger or need surgery, they may shelve him. If he’s fine, he’s on the 53 and I don’t think it’s close. The kid has shown a jump in improvement and that he has the necessary skill set to stick around in the NFL. A move to the practice squad seems like a very bad idea to me and he won’t make it though the season on there.
Hall’s potential?
On the low end, I see a developing plus back up. TJack had a very long career fulfilling a similar role for teams. I do see a kid with the capability of developing into a starter. He reminds me of Jordan Love in regards to needing time when he was coming in. Love of course is a different player due to his youth and size, but from developmental standpoint, they seem similar to me.
KOC didnt seem to concerned about the leg yesterday when he was on the broadcast of the game with PA. Hopefully nothing more than a bruise.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Hall may never be a starter in the league, but probably good enough to be on active rosters...
If he stays healthy? Dude will make generational $ over the years.

The whole debate is whether he can get through to the practice squad and many are thinking it’s a risk and maybe one not worth taking. I’m guessing he sees the active roster. If you lose him, you have only two qb’s who know a pretty complex system. That’s quite possibly an unacceptable risk.

By the time you get to the third QB your season is pretty much screwed anyway. If you feel he has the potential to become an NFL starter, you protect him on the 53. If not, you put him on the practice squad and let the chips fall where they may.
He had a very good game against scrubs, and he had good protection. I would like to keep him. But not at the expense of a roster spot. Is he Sloter, or someone who can beat out Mullins?
If he can't beat out Mullins he should probably be on the practice squad or cut.
