He was released w/ an injury designation, if unclaimed, he will revert to injured.reserve.

He unlikely will be claimed. I would predict he reverts to injured reserve. He was a damn good gunner last year, but too many times he came in with such closing speed that the punt receiver could juke him and side-step him. He will have time to reflect over the next 9 months or so...it might be nice to get him back to special teams next year.
