My interest level is at zero....wake me up next year at this time

I knew it was a transition year anyhow, but at least I was interested in JJM's development. All that is out the window now. No way they don't do a full repair of his meniscus...why would you do anything less? The 'Darnold is going to surprise' stuff is a pipe dream, at least consistently. I'm sure Sam will have his positive moments. I had no expectations beyond 7 or 8 wins this year. My interest was entirely about when JJM would get in toward the end of the season. And the unknown factor of how McCarthy will respond to having his knee operated on and how bad it is. Why play him now this year at all, regardless of recovery time? At least I didn't waste any money on the NFL Sunday Ticket.

Venting here, but I don't see my attitude changing much as the days go on. Not trying to bum others out, its just deflating as a fan. All good!

I'll check back on this optimism level after the first 4 games, lol. Going to be a very rough start in Minnesota. McCarthy is going to be deprived of reps, practice and preseason games. I could handle the losing early better knowing JJM was improving and learning. Now we have to fade an injury as well. Its not about him not starting, I never envisioned that before maybe November at the earliest. Its what he's missing out on. it blows. Now the best case scenario is he's 100% healthy for 2025. I'll take it, but his development is going to suffer.

Vikings rookie QB J.J. McCarthy’s season is over. He underwent surgery on his meniscus this morning. The procedure revealed a repair was necessary. What an absolute bummer.

Yeah, at least watching a kid who might get better would be more fun than watching shitty journeymen like Darnold and Mullens who've been nothing but ass for years.
This.

Things are “not going well” for QB Sam Darnold at #Vikings joint practice with the #Browns today, per
@MatthewColler
.
Darnold threw a pick on the sideline throwing it toward Jefferson. He then was sacked and someone on the Browns heckled:

“Darnold’s] 1 for 12” throwing.

I was listening to one of my favorite sports betting pods recently and they were talking about possible value in a "Vikings last team to get their first win" prop bet.  I could see with a few bad breaks they might start 0-11.  Where will Sticky's interest level be then? ;)
It still remains low, mostly because I just don't see it with Darnold.  I appreciate my optimistic purple brethern here, but its going to get beat out of them early unfortunately. Watching JJM's development was the key to my season....but the team has seen enough to know JJ is the franchise QB. That's a good thing.
