Draft Day 3
Vikings picking #108. Still some interesting names and players at receiver, running back, tight end and I really like the Texas tackle Christian Jones. Jeremiah Trotter still out there and some decent corners too. Looking forward to seeing how we finish this thing out
I think if the CB Tampa is still there they have to be all over him, DL Orlus, WR Franklin would be great value and would be ideal 3rd WR to add to the mix, also like WR Walker, two of my favorites RB Wright and LB Gray.
Some players the Vikings have had contact with still available
Virginia WR Malik Washington (Shrine Game)
UTSA WR Josh Cephus (Shrine Game, Top 30 visit)
Georgia WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint (Senior Bowl)
Iowa TE Erick All
Minnesota TE Brevyn Spann-Ford (Local Pro Day visit)
Auburn CB Nehemiah Pritchett (Senior Bowl)
Oregon CB Khyree Jackson (Top 30 Visit)
UNI DT Khristian Boyd (Shrine Game, Top 30 Visit, Pro Day)
Oregon DL Brandon Dorlus (Pro Day)
Boston College OL Christian Mahogany (Combine Formal Interview)
Oregon DT Taki Taimani (Top 30 Visit)
People sleep peacably at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Lots of talent still available. Hopefully some will still be available in Round 6. Dorlus would be a nice get @ #108. Has scheme versatility. Can play on the outside & kick inside to provide some pass rush. In addition to TJ Tampa, another CB that I like is Kris Abrams-Draine. I also wouldn't mind Sedrick Van Pran-Granger who could replace Bradbury in 2025.

Going to be a GORGEOUS day in SoFlo......a little brunch out, back home by the pool and Day 3 of the Draft on the outdoor TV. Maybe a little day dreaming about our new boy, JJM, and some adult beverages?
Fuck off. It's raining like a pissing cow here and it's going to keep raining all day. 40 degrees. On the bright side, we desperately need the rain and it's perfect draft weather. :-)
Since I was laser focused on QB, I didn't study players this deep in the draft. There's a couple players that stand out to me.
Malik Washington, WR. Shifty little Tank Dell type might be a good WR3 for us.
Khristian Boyd, NT, 6-2, 320. This team could still use a bigger nose. I don't believe in drafting 1 or 2-down players early, but the 4th is a good spot. Dorlus
A few IOLs ...Bortolini is a great athlete. Sedrick Van Pran-Granger is a leader, super smart and experienced. South Dakota State's Mason McCormick is a guy two years from now people are going to wonder how he was taken so late.
I expect Flores to find a corner with some upside today. And I'm hoping we draft a kicker. Cam Little's the best. High FG percentage, hit a 68-yarder in practice and he's never missed an extra point. I want THAT guy.
Almost forgot one of my favorites: Isaac Guerendo, RB, 6-0, 220, runs 4.3, can catch the ball AND is a very good pass blocker.
I don't follow college football and definitely not SDSU but I have read really good things about South Dakota State's Mason McCormick and would support that selection.
I really like Will Shipley and Audric Estime. Jones is only on a 1 year deal and we'll continue to see on Chandler. I think both are potential starters and can give us some depth
UNSUNG HERO
Javion Cohen, G, Miami: After the 2021 season, his first of two as the starting LG for Alabama, he spent a month at a wellness recovery center to work on his mental health. In 2023, he proposed to his wife and welcomed a daughter. Cohen (6-4 ½, 322, 5.34) has 37 Power 5 starts and 34-inch arms.
Devontez Walker, WR, UNC, 6-2, 195, 4.3 forty, 40.5 vert, long arms. Needs to learn to run routes, but he's got HWS for days.
I hope we go IOL or IDL
Two IOL remaining that some have ranked pretty high. I personally have no clue.
70. Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C, Georgia — 6-3, 310, Senior
Broad, powerful and surprisingly quick, the SEC's reigning Jacobs Blocking Trophy Award winner has the look of a plug-and-play starting center and potential Day 2 steal.
90. Sataoa Laumea, OG, Utah — 6-4, 319, Senior
Teams looking for more of a sure thing than upside will value Laumea, a four-year starter with the size, athleticism and experience to play virtually anywhere on the offensive line.
I forgot how cringy the player announcements were on day 3. I'm sure we'll have a baboon announcing a pick announcement from a random zoo at some point today.
Per the rankings of the best players remaining from NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, there are 20 top-100 prospects still on the board for teams:
Texas OT Christian Jones (No. 55 overall)
Oregon DT Brandon Dorlus (No. 65 overall)
Arizona TE Tanner McLachlan (No. 68 overall)
Texas TE Ja'Tavion Sanders (No. 70 overall)
Colorado State EDGE Mohamed Kamara (No. 71 overall)
Missouri CB Kris Abrams-Draine (No. 72 overall)
North Carolina LB Cedric Gray (No. 75 overall)
Oregon WR Troy Franklin (No. 76 overall)
Washington State S Jaden Hicks (No. 78 overall)
Kentucky RB Ray Davis (No. 81 overall)
Penn State TE Theo Johnson (No. 82 overall)
TCU TE Jared Wiley (No. 83 overall)
Iowa State CB T.J. Tampa (No. 84 overall)
TCU CB Josh Newton (No. 85 overall)
South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler (No. 89 overall)
Clemson RB Will Shipley (No. 92 overall)
North Carolina WR Devontez Walker (No. 93 overall)
Virginia WR Malik Washington (No. 94 overall)
Tennessee RB Jaylen Wright (No. 95 overall)
Washington S Dominique Hampton (No. 97 overall)
Dorlus still there and some good IOL
very tall CB
61. Khyree Jackson, CB, Oregon — 6-4, 194, Senior
An Alabama transfer who immediately took over as the leader of Oregon's secondary, the long-armed Jackson is among the most intriguing press corners of this class
Interesting pick. Tall corner, former Alabama player. Throw him into the mix at corner;
Murphy
Booth
Evans
Blackmon
Griffin
Jackson
Short bio on Jackson from NFL. History at Bama was not very productive. Excellent year in 2023
2021 (Alabama): Played in 12 games as a reserve (7 tackles, 2 PBUs).
2022 (Alabama): Played in 9 games with 1 start (7 tackles, TFL). Suspended in November for undisclosed reasons, entered the transfer portal.
2023: First-team All-Pac-12 Conference. Started 12 games (34 tackles, 5 TFL with 2 sacks, 3 INTs, 7 PBUs). Missed the Fiesta Bowl with a lower-body injury.
I still have concerns about the interior along both lines and I don't see us getting much help in those areas with the picks we have left. I'm hoping at the very least we bring back Dalton Risner after the draft to solidify the left guard spot. Interior defensive like is just going to be a weak spot for us and hopefully we can address that area next year.
Vikings seemed pretty elated with the Jackson pick at 108. Big, toolsy gut who didn't spend enough time at any one location to put together a top resume, but he stood out at the Senior Bowl, which is a very good sign. If he gives us what pick 102 gave us last year (Blackmon), I'll be happy.

Same, I know they needed a CB but really hoping they'd go DT at 108.

We've spent so many resources now on the corner position. Four players drafted in the 4th round or higher, a pricey free agent in Murphy, and a one year deal on Griffin. I'm done seeing us spend resources at corberback. Hopefully we finally have it right
