in fairness.... lets look at our games.

Packers-over rated by most anybodys measurement..but still we were trailing going into the 4th quarter. If Murray doesnt get hurt, based on what we have seen from him after that game, we likely lose that one. Wentz had 3 TDs in less than a full game with likely very little first team work.

Bears- a win is a win, but the conditions of that game eh... coin flip and as close as it was, if their puss of a QB didnt quit, could have easily have lost that one as well.

divisional games are tough, so to have started 2-0 should have turned some heads, but I think that ugly bears win and a very questionable start in the first game didnt have many believing at that point.

Bucs on the road--any road win is earned, even against a weak opponent

Fish--a shit team at home and we squeak one out... who gets excited for our teams potential after that performance?

Saints- well anytime you can beat those cheating fuckers and make their fans go home sad... thats gravy on my mashed taters, but they are still a shit team.

Colts- they are selling everything and everybody associated with this team, why would anyone elevate the Vikings when they beat a team having a yard sale, at home, after the bye week, in a very unconvincing fashion?

our last four opponents have a combined 7 wins, 4 teams with only 1 more total combined wins than we do. And honestly we havent beaten them in a convincing fashion. If we didnt have the top D in the league and kicker/ST that have been very productive we could easily be the team having the fire sale right now.

This is the NFL, the game is set up for the O to succeed, the game is set up for teams to score 30 points a game, when the O is such a big part of the game, its not surprising that people arent buying in on a 6-0 start against the schedule we have faced, with such a dismal performance to date from our starting QB/O ( i think this O looks much better with Wentz in there, yes more sacks, yes likely a few more picks, but I have zero doubt that we are scoring 2 to 3 TDs per game on O, and that really allows the D to go out there and play crazy. Imagine this D if they werent always playing with their backs against the wall, if the opposing team had to really go 1 dimensional to keep pace. I think the sack record would easily fall if they could afford to play a bit riskier.)

but you can only play who they put in front of you and they have won those contests. The real season starts Sunday and we will have a much clearer picture by Dec 1st about who this team really is.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

The problem with these stats are that the other teams are judged over the entire season, while the vikings numbers are for 6 games. As Jimmy points out, it is not a great sample of the full season. Let's see the next 4-5 games before jumping to the conclusion that this is an historic defense. I do, however, remain hopeful that the Vikings will prove to be in that class!

I love what we’ve done so far, but I don’t understand how some fans wanna crown this team already. Have we not gone down this road many times? It’s OK to love what’s going on and still be a little dubious. 🤙

I have no misconceptions this team is going to be making the 72 Miami Dolphins worried by Xmas time...I mean the chances are great they're going to lose a game lol!

Could even be this week? But for me, it’s how they potentially lose. If it’s close, the offense looks to be shrugging off its listlessness, maybe the D finally has an off day?

I could live with that much easier than an ugly blow-out with a bunch of players needing time off to repair.

Here’s some more unwanted facts:

During the 2026 NFL regular season, Minnesota Vikings opponents are scoring an average of 23.6 points per game in matchups where they are not playing the Vikings. [1]

By comparison, defensive coordinator Brian Flores' unit is holding those exact same teams to a dominant 12.3 points per game.

When we lose a game in the rain and get as much compassion as the Bears then I will not only agree but I will also kiss your butt.

Thank you. Tired of hearing our own fans explaining away how we beat the Packers and Bears.

Exactly. We played in the same weather as the Bears and scored 3 times as many points.

The packers shot their wad in the first half, our offense adjusted and so did our defense. We outscored them after spotting them a significant lead.

Every game, the defense adjusts and gets tighter and tighter. The Bucs gashed our D for 2 drives, then we adjusted and shut them down.

And how many points has the Viking D given up in the 4th Q this year? 3 points. Over 6 final quarters. When teams had to score, had a chance to win the game. 3 points.

I think the only reason gb scored as much as they did is because the defense couldn’t hear the signals being called out. At halftime we adjusted to hand signals. Held them to 3 points.

Wasn't aware of that.

Read something about adjustments as well, might have been after the TB game, said they simply adjusted how quickly the LBs were dropping into the seams.

Yep, and that's a huge part of Flo's growth as a defensive play-caller, IMO. He's learned to recognize what's not working and make adjustments on the fly. That's what makes him so dangerous. When a defensive magician like Flo can adapt midgame, it becomes a scary proposition for opposing offenses.

I guess those teams just happen to suck when they played the Vikings. Maybe it was the weather? Mercury in retrograde? PMS?

Yeah, the dome team going to an outdoor stadium in the rain definitely needs to be discounted.

I've also heard Caleb Williams didn't play in that game. From what I remember, he didn't tweak his hymen until half way through the 4th quarter.
