We didn’t open up a ton of space last season. I think in 27 we convert Jefferson’s salary into signing bonuses to make way for this contract as well as a QB among other priorities.

Wilson is under contract already.

Cashman is going to cost quite a bit more than he’s making now.

Ginks will need another year if not two.

And a QB.

We’re probably going to go with what we got this year…I do think they need some ol help and I won’t mention rb again (today). That’s expecting way too much in the real world. Improvements have to come from who’s on the roster now.

Probably should have paid him a couple weeks ago. He may play out of our price range lol

I’d rather enjoy 6/0 and being the only undefeated team in the league right now.

Even if they go .500 against a very difficult schedule the next mos? They're still 8/2.

I’m hoping the offense comes around more, I think they will

Always interesting to pop in briefly to this board during a Viking's game and see the fans that really only post then to bag on the team. Otherwise they are not here at all. Its happened every week and the team is 6-0, lol. I've been out touching grass the last few days and its been a nice break from all the negativity toward this team that is currently undefeated. There's a difference in being cautiously optimistic or a little worried to outright just slamming every aspect of the team in a 10-6 deficit at halftime. If this is 'keeping it real' for some of you, you can keep it. 🙄

In regards to defenders, primarily the front 7:

Redmond, AVG, and Cashman should be high on the priority list for resigning, IMO. As JT said, Wilson is already under contract and he continue to defy odds with his resurgence under Flores.

The trust and confidence these defenders are playing with together continues to build. I cannot wait to see Banks and Orange continuing to grow into this defense.

I still really like Elijah Williams and believe he would be nice depth to sign again (I believe his contract is up after this year). TID is still young and under contract. LDR is signed through 2027 I believe.

The real question is: are any of those players great players on a Flores-less Defense? If they're punching above their weight because of Flores and he leaves. They might not fit whomever comes next.

I think if we lose Flores, we should absolutely try to continue running his defense (and if KOC hasn’t been trying to extract all the secrets on how the defense works, that would be a huge mistake on his part). I don’t think Redmond is a guy that is Flores dependent, but Cashman, AVG and Wilson are probably maximized in this scheme with a notable drop if moved to a different scheme, but all of those guys are going to be gone soon regardless of whether they move to a different team or age out of being productive starters.

Cashman & AVG are both on the wrong side of 30. That will hopefully depress their market. Regardless, I would want new contracts structured so there's no guaranteed money beyond 2028. I respect Cashman as much as any fan, but we did draft Golday to eventually replace him.

I always figured Golday to be The AVG replacement
