Your favorite Vikings live game memory...
I know for many it will probably be "Minneapolis miracle" - Go ahead and post if that's your favorite memory - It would be mine too - HAD I BEEN THERE.
For those who don't get to many home games, (and for those of us representing at AWAY games) what was your favorite memory?
I've seen a couple "stinkers" - a Monday night loss against the Rams in the '70's, but got to see Tarkenton, Foreman & PPE.....Another time my flight DELAYED THEN CANCELLED for Tarvaris' big game in AZ. Couldn't get there and had to EAT my great seats. Ugh - Another stinker was watching Donovan McNabb Opening day 2011 when he threw for like 14 yards against the Chargers in San Diego. (That was the game Harvin ran back the opening kickoff)
For me my most memorable game was the '86 -'87 season: The last game before the strike.
Vikings were losing at the end of 4th quarter against the Rams in Anaheim... Smart A$$ Rams fan said to me "Better luck next time" Couple plays later Wade Wilson hooks up with Hassan Jones for the game winning TD. Game over....Vikes win.
Second favorite - The kids bought me tickets, flights and hotel for Vikings comeback win against the Broncos (Nov. 2019) At the time it was like the fourth biggest comeback in franchise history.
Another fun game in Los Angeles (Although we lost) in 2018 - Treadwell played catch with my son in the stands.
So - What was your favorite memory of a live game ? First time with the kids? Minneapolis miracle? The Comeback against the Colts? Other?
Talk to me Goose...
9/27/2009 Favre throws game winner to Greg Lewis in the end zone with 2 seconds left. I had season tickets in the corner second row second level right above the play. Lewis' foot was almost out of the back of the end zone.
Got a field pass before a colts game. Watched Dungy talking to his players while they were stretching.
Watched AP's first TD. Had seats a few rows up behind Vikings bench.
Drove from Nebraska through a Blizzard to watch the Skins kick the Vikings and Tarvaris' butt in the playoffs.
Not too exciting except the Lewis catch.
Only been to 2 live games. First in 2010 vs. Arizona. Farve throws for 456 yards (most in his career). Overtime win for Minnesota 27-24. The place was rocking, and I almost missed my plane flying back to Texas.
One memorable moment for me was the first pass thrown to Adrian Peterson. A simple swing pass, but leading the receiver looks very different live than on TV. It initially looked too far and fast, but it was perfect, forcing Peterson to get up to speed as the ball landed in his arms.
Coincidently, my second live game was last year at Dallas. McCarthy also throws for the most yards of his career (250). That was a fun game to be at, and the Skol chants were alive.
First game at the Bank its inaugural season was pretty memorable. I was awestruck at just how beautiful the facility was. We dominated Houston that day. Was also at the Metrodome when Carter caught his 1,000th against Detroit. It was, of course, a touchdown.

Dec 26 1976 NFC Championship game vs the Rams. Last time I saw a game at the old Met. Early on we blocked a f.g. right in front of where I was sitting in the left field bleachers, and Bobby Bryant ran it back 90 yards for a td. He could barely get up and walk afterwards (I think he smoked) and the path to our last SB appearance was clear. Chuck Foreman had some great runs that day as well, busted off a 60 yarder and went over 100 for the game.
Up in the stands with my old man (RIP) a thermos of coffee and schnaaps, under a blanket, screaming my head off. Football outdoors in the cold like god intended. That's a memory.
2009 Divisional Round
Vikings vs Cowboys
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I still remember the aluminum benches at the olde met..They weren't pleasant in August and were worse come cold.

Not a particularly favorite, but my first ever Viking game was in Chicago, November 1977.

Damn, you are old. 😜 My first NFL game was a couple years later at Soldier Field. Preseason game between the Bears and Jets. Richard Todd was the Jets QB. Tickets were $9 EACH. My dad was horrified at the cost.

That Rams game was one of my first Vikings memories and would be up there with the mpls miracle for non-live best moments. You could sense the deflation in the Rams with the 10 point swing.
Favre to Greg Lewis Home opener vs the 49ers
Gary Anderson 50+ yard field goal to beat the Dolphins with Cris Carter returning to the dome
Adrian Peterson breaking the single game rushing record vs the Chargers
Vikings/Packers 2021 at the Bank. Justin Jefferson Game winning TD
I'm out of state but have been to maybe 8-10 games. All of them were a lot of fun!
My favorite memory was a game against the Ravens in 09. Vikings played great but collapsed in the fourth and the Ravens had a kick to win it at the end. My dad and I had seats in the endzone and watched the kick sail miraculously wide (Just looked it up- Steven Hauschka, 44 yder). The whole place erupted but it took me a half tick longer to react because I was so shocked. My dad I still joke about how that's the only game winning field goal a kicker has ever missed against the Vikings. At least it feels that way most years!
I forgot one. Home opener, first game of Wilfs ownership. I think it was the Falcons. I had 4 parking spots for tailgaiting across the street from gate H of the metrodome. Zigi came walking by ,coming from the parking ramp, and we called him over, and he sang SKOL Vikings with us before he went inside.
2009 Favre vs Rodgers. Had to buy a 3 game package for those tickets.
Opening game at the Bank vs the pack when Waynes picked Rodgers to end the game.

I was at that 2009 home game vs Pack...I mean outside of the 98 Championship game? That is the most electric that old dump of a stadium maybe ever was...And thats going back to the first season when they didnt even have air-conditioning in it yet..
I still have the Black Eyed Peas (I got a feeling) burning my ears from that Favre/Rogers game.

Great games / stories - So many "watershed" moments
I may be the only one on this board that doesn't have to plead for just once to watch the Vikings win a Championship.
1969...NFL Championship game at the Met Stadium. Bud Grant was the coach. Joe Kapp was the QB. I was 8 years old. It was cold...around zero (maybe less with the windchill). Vikings beat Cleveland 27-7 to claim the last NFL title before the merger. They won the Ed Thorpe trophy which was a traveling trophy given to the NFL champion. Somehow the Ed Thorpe trophy ended up in Green Bay (likely because they were the previous winners and just failed to send it to MN since the non-merged league didn't exist anymore)...and was replaced by the Lombardi for Superbowl 1..you can't hate the Packers enough.. It pisses me off every time I go to Lambeau that the earned Vikings trophy is in their Museum.
