Pettine Not Fan

What a little bitch. Listen, do I think BFlo is an alpha and wants the D run his way? Yep. But the results speak for themselves. I'm sure Flores can be abrasive. He's improved in that area, but only so much and its the main reason, with the lawsuit, that he won't be a HC again. Was Mike Zimmer ever a HC again? Same stuff.
Aren't a lot of these guys alphas though? I can't imagine too many beta coaches doing well in professional sports.
I was never a fan of Pettine and I'm glad he's not in MN. He sounds like a peach and also abrasive.
I have a saying... You might not like my methods but you will love my results.
This right here may prevent Flores from getting a head coaching job more then the lawsuit. The water cooler bullshit around the NFL that most won't talk about. Pettine is well known and liked in NFL circles, and the fact it was enough for him to pause and not say anything actually says a lot.
Some dudes are great coordinators. As far as I am concerned, keep Flores tail here as long as humanly possible.

Much of the same in Miami as well. I agree that he makes a great coordinator.
There's clearly a lot of guys with an axe to grind with Flores and maybe they're justified, who knows. What I do know is that at the highest level, winning trumps all.
How's that Dallas Defense doing under your control Pettine? How about STFU and realize you did jack chit for our D and Flores ran the show. Go be bitter and focus on your crappy Defense and how much you are failing at your job.
Cowboys 31st in Total Defense
21st in Passing Defense
32nd in Rushing Defense.
Nobody cares what you think.

Yep. He did the Belichick tree strategy in Miami - alienate everyone. I don't blame him for refusing to tank for the shitbird owner but outside of that, your rep with people follows you in any profession. It has to be bad when you've had public comments about being difficult from more than one person, because generally in the NFL everyone either spills happy talk about each other or says nothing. It's very rare to have anyone speak out negatively on the record about a guy for public consumption, whether it's Pettine, Tua, or whoever.
Still, it's the NFL. All it takes is one rogue billionaire thumbing their nose at the other billionaires and hiring him. But I don't think the odds are high at this point. Which is just great for us, because his best role imho is not HC, it's DC and being totally focused on that, working for coach Huggy Bear O'Connell whose job is to motivate the troops with warm fuzzies. Flo can be as raw as he wants with his guys on D and they will eat it up because defense is mostly about crazy aggression and wanting to annihilate the opps.

One is a household name, the other is a nobody that the cowboys can help their awful D.
You can make yourself a legend at coordinator too. Along with some serious coin.
I just cant help think BFlo wants to touch that HC stone one more time.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Honestly, Gruden has a higher chance of being a HC again. And that’s the saddest statement I’ll make today.

I am not sure he will get that chance. I simply think the lawsuit and how abrasive he is, will just have the owners stay away. It was his downfall in Miami as well. Fired an OC for sneezing wrong.
He’s our until he’s in the dirt.

Yep. But the Strib loves to shake up the natives in Minnesota. But I have no doubt he'd like another shot at HC. As comet says, it'll take a rogue owner going off script because of that personality.

He has the same style Zimmer had. which works as Dc,, but as a Hc not so much.
I get it's click bait, but why do it in Week 6 when the Vikings are on a BYE?
Don't trade JJ.
I did a lot of research about his time in Miami and brought this up over the summer on this board. It will blow you away on how dysfunctional Flores is as a HC. His ability to lead a team as a whole is severely questionable at best.

Ya I hadn't seen that doc before. Interesting and probably mostly on the money, though time spent in the KOC school of hallway hugs might have helped with the rough edges.
But between suing owners and making several of them really dislike him, getting any of them to actually hire him becomes a tough mountain to climb. Justin is probably right that he's here for the duration. No complaints from me about that.
