And then there were three
Bills lost today.
Niners Chiefs and Vikings...all undefeated so far.
What does not make sense? A lot:
A sputtering offense...in the end, Murray's numbers were okay (best so far by a Vikings QB this season)...73% completion rate, 247 yards in the air, best of the season). But could not get anything across the finish line...the butt drop by Hock short of the end zone was a smart, time-burning tactic to ensure the win.
Too many of Murray's drop-backs...he took waaaaay to long to get rid of the ball...his fault for giving the Dolphins four sacks...when they had zero coming in. He does not have a quick release...could be the lack of familiarity with KOCs offense, don't know. I remember it took Kirko 8 games to finally start to grasp it.
But Niners and Chiefs are bona fide playoff contenders. Us?
Color me unconvinced.
Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.
Reichart has a streak of 30? straight FG's and 75 straight Extra Points. The only misses came from hitting the sky cam guide wire. He's cold-blooded and one of the best kickers in the NFL.
There were several articles that said Price had improved. That wasn't bullshit. He was just voted NFL ST player of the month.
The Vikings have blocked a FG and a punt in 4 games.
Give it another 8-10 weeks when the grind of the NFL season starts to take it's toll, that'll be right about the time Orange and Banks get into game shape. I'm not saying they'll be ALL-PRO, I'm saying the IDL strength isn't gonna diminish as the season progresses, it'll probably improve. Redmond, LDR, TID, Williams are all under 27. Orange is 22 , Banks is 23. The vikings dline is the same in the first quarter as it is in the 4th quarter. You can see it.
The collective IQ of the defense is next level.
.
The vikings remaining schedule doesn't look as brutal as it did week 1. AFc east and NFc South aren't stacked divisions. And neither is the NFc North. Minnesota will be underdogs vs. San Fran and Buffalo. The other 11 games they'll be favorites. If they finish 7-6 to close out the season they're 11-7 and in the playoffs
Wanna see what Teasley does......
Don't trade JJ.
Well, I think a lot of Vikings fans are 'unconvinced' because of the offense. I mean, I get that. Its kind of self evident to be skeptical about it. But the mentality I'm seeing is 'just wait, this team is going to shit the bed'.....🤔 But what about: or maybe it might be the offense slowly takes off? Or maybe I'll enjoy being 4-0 with an offense that can't play this badly all year, yay for the upside?
I know this board, I've been around a LONG time. The first loss and it'll be vulture central here. Some posters only show up on gameday to complain and bitch play to play. Fine, can't stop that. That's the nature of the online beast. Many fans are skeptical of Murray, as am I. I don't think he's the QB1 answer for this team next season and he won't be. But its a week to week league and so far, so good with wins and losses. I'll worry about the QB solution for 2027 next offseason. I do admit the wins aren't quite as satisfying waiting on the offense to emerge. But they are still wins and don't forget to stop and smell the roses a bit along the journey. ✌️ The team needs to be situational masters until the QB 'ascends', so that part I grade out as A+ 👍
Will the #Vikings be the lone undefeated team after their bye week? pic.twitter.com/C4Z4Hs609h

Vikings have the best chance to stay the longest. The offense has to get better. Can't keep this up.
I remember the 2006 Bears had a good defense and a game changer return specialist (Hester) but I don't remember any stars on offense and they went to the Superbowl.
Looking back, the Bears are who we thought they were.
I give the Chiefs the best chance. They have a bye this week, then the trainwreck Chargers. As much as I love our D, take our offense from the first 4 games and imagine it without Darrisaw and Jackson. We couldn't score a TD at home vs the freaking Dolphins.
I get why the team chose to down it without scoring at the end, but I do think there was some intangible value to scoring that TD. The psychological boost it would've given the offense may have been worth putting the W at risk. The odds of losing a 22-10 game in two minutes were pretty low given how we were playing on defense. But then there's running all the players out there again risking further injuries. Smart, tough decision by KOC that should be recognized, but I probably take that TD.

That Vikings/49ers game in Mexico city in November promises to be a doozy.

Taking care of the football, excellent defense and excellent special teams. It’s why we are here. The above formula has taken multiple teams on a deep run.
We Get Jordan Mason and Jets back, we are a dangerous team. Kyler has always been accurate.
This team has another gear, we just haven’t seen it. No, we are not going undefeated, but this team has a ton of upside.
