You know, you try and enjoy the 3-0 start as any fan would. But when you delve into social media, its just such a shitshow of arguing, accusing, doomsaying, dumbasses trying to be funny, sensational trade ideas, contrarianism, etc. Its sucks the joy out of things. I guess this is more a sidenote to your thread here, but it makes it tough to be in the moment. Most online fans are just looking to be outraged over something. Sigh. Before, JJM sucked and they piled on, now KOC and the Vikings are idiots for trading him. 🙄
Back to your point: the Minnesota Vikings and their QBs, a Shakespearian tragedy.
I am enjoying the 3-0. Befuddled by the trade, wondering if the offense will figure it out. But it sure beats being 0-3 or 1-2 and having lost our home opener.
I like D, so the games are fun. Stressful, but fun.

I’m enjoying the hell out of this defense. The emergence of Turner. Banks being so much further along than I could have expected. Picking up KVN off the scrap heap and being integrated seamlessly in our chaotic system. This D is so much fun to watch.
But, can I interest you in some Mac Jones discourse? I’ve got to think we’ll be his number one destination of choice. And who better to make that decision than Mr T? Maybe that’s been the plan all along?
QB draft class will be heavily scrutinized. Same with RBs and TEs. Edges and LBs too.

If you can't beat out Wentz for QB2 when you are a Top 10 1st rd pick then..... And he's also made of glass.
Anyhoo... 3-0 is insane when we are negative 225 yards compared to our opposition.
Loving it but it has a very similar feel to 2 years ago where we squeaked out every win and were out 1st round of the PO.
The Offense needs to wake up or we are in trouble. Granted KM and JJ have only played 17 SNAPS TOGETHER so I'm giving the offense the benefit of the doubt. But it they don't start doing something in the next 3 games against MIA, NO and Indy then we're screwed.
We just need a top 20 QB performance to make the PO's. Top 15 we win 1 or 2 games. Top 10 and we're NFCC and possibly SB bound.

Oh I get the why on the trade, just didn't think the comp was adequate. Attitude and availability. Teams will put up with baggage as long as you can play and are good. Can't play, won't play? Probably not going to be worth the headache.
I am hopeful that the D keeps us winning games and that the offense finds its way. Yeah, Kyler and JJ haven't played much together yet.

I am not sure what KOC sees in Brosmer, but I suspect they want him on the 53 so he can be the emergency QB on game day. KM and Wentz could easily both go down in a game.

I think it was JIT who said Mullens would be available to pick-up off a practice squad (Tx?) That would've been my preference.
Anyways, KOC has always liked Max, back to his Goph days. Says he's very, very smart and he's been steeped in the playbook for a couple seasons now too..

Scoggins: What if Vikings keep winning but Kyler Murray isn’t the answer at QB?
With J.J. McCarthy traded and Murray’s contract expiring, the Vikings might not draft high enough to land their next QB. Murray can make the decision easy.
The topic of the day carried enough tension and big-picture priority that Kevin O’Connell, in the middle of an answer, reminded the assembled media that his team is 3-0.
“Long-term visions are great and I think you need them,” the Vikings coach said, “but I want to make sure that day-to-day, hour-to-hour, minute-to-minute, we’re trying to win every football game we play. That’s never going to change.”
The illuminated question mark that hangs above their impressive start to the season is hard to ignore because, well, it involves the quarterback position, same as it ever was.
J.J. McCarthy’s future with the organization already was blanketed by doubt before Monday. The trade that sent him to the New York Giants resolved that issue but left a larger conundrum.
Kyler Murray has 14 games remaining to answer that question.
The Vikings once again will need to find a starting quarterback at season’s end once Murray’s contract expires.
Will it be Murray? A veteran free agent? A rookie selected in the draft?
My normal advice to people who obsess over the future is to just relax and enjoy the season. This situation is an exception.
The cleanest option would be for Murray to settle in and play at a level that screams “franchise quarterback. Don’t let him leave the building.”
Murray has played 70 snaps in a Vikings uniform. It hasn’t started well, but it’s way too soon to render a verdict. Give him more time running O’Connell’s scheme to see if the fit works longer term.
Vikings need clarity at QB after J.J. McCarthy trade
The runway isn’t endless though. O’Connell and new general manager Nolan Teasley will need clarity by this winter. That timeline creates urgency to formulate contingency plans.
A good record with suspect quarterback play would be the equivalent of no man’s land. That scenario would necessitate a new direction at quarterback but likely leave the team outside of a desirable spot to draft one.
Neither O’Connell nor the Wilf family, which owns the team, have any appetite for picking in the top five. The next quarterback class is considered deep, but a 3-0 start puts the Vikings on pace to pick behind several QB-needy teams.
The organization’s default setting historically has been baton passing between veteran quarterbacks who hold the spot for only a short stint. That’s why McCarthy’s arrival generated so much optimism. He represented hope, the idea of a true franchise quarterback being drafted and developed for the long haul.
If the Vikings ultimately feel compelled to start over again, it’s fair to wonder how McCarthy’s tenure will shape their decision. Would they desire an established veteran in free agency more than entrusting the future to another young quarterback?
The Vikings roster has been assembled to be competitive now and in the immediate future. That variable requires a certain standard from the quarterback position.
NFL quarterback is the hardest job in sports. Incredibly smart football people get it wrong all time. Trying to predict how college quarterbacks will translate to the NFL is an inexact science because offenses are vastly different at the two levels.
That process is complicated by the fact that patience in the NFL can fit inside a teacup. Fans, owners, media and social media form a vortex of opinions and expectations.
O’Connell was asked if McCarthy’s experience and other examples of young quarterbacks struggling “scares” him about potentially dipping his toes in that water again.
“You’re always evolving and changing based upon the previous experiences, and I think that applies in this circumstance,” O’Connell said. “However we move forward, that’ll absolutely apply.”
It’s still speculation at this point. The picture should be clearer three months from now.
Monday’s news created an odd vibe. McCarthy was jettisoned, Murray was coming off a poor outing, yet the Vikings remain undefeated.
A lot of the season is left to be played. A related story will be moving along a parallel track.
