Observation #7 - Ravens at Vikings: JJ ends the quarter with more of the same - throws too high & too hard and guys can't catch them, or catch up to them. Held the ball far too long on 3rd down & got hit in the leg which made his pass to an open WR fall short. He has talent - raw pic.twitter.com/0CxbkPknvb

Observation #8- Ravens and Vikings: The #2 Viking defense looks very good against the #2 Raven offense, which matches what we heard about the D in the join practices this week with Baltimore

If J.J. McCarthy's done after the first quarter...

McCarthy needs to get rid of the ball. This isn’t Michigan where he has five seconds to throw the ball.
To be fair to J.J. McCarthy, he's under pretty constant pressure behind the Vikings' No. 2 line. The Ravens have sacked him once and hit him on 3 other plays. In 4 possessions, the Vikings have 90 net yards on 18 plays. (The Ravens have 14 yards on 9 plays. Preseason vibes.)

Idk why they only had JJ out there for a quarter. He needs reps!

Are they protecting him incase Kyler goes down? I just don’t get it man. That’s the only reason I can think of.

Observation #9 - Ravens and Vikings: JJ finishes the day 5 of 10 for 75 yards, 0 TDs & 0 INTs & a 77 QB rating. Take out the 50 yard 50/50 ball & McCarthy was 4 of 9 for 25 yds & a QB rtng of 51. He is reading his progressions faster, but still looks like a rookie w/ some skills pic.twitter.com/uLPRcCeTF0

This angle is rough. Have to be able to take something off and apply touch here, especially when the receiver is 5'9". https://t.co/lckH5gSfpq

Carson Wentz and the rest of the Vikings' No. 3 offense is on the field for the first drive of the 2nd quarter. If that's it for J.J. McCarthy, he finished 5-10-81 and didn't do much to quell public discussion, at least, about the No. 2 QB job.

Nice play here by the offense, but it was negated by a holding penalty. pic.twitter.com/bS1eJ4MjGp

You can just tell the difference with Carson in there. It looks like a professional offense.

Wentz should look like that being the Veteran that he is playing against a practice squad.

The thing of it is is JJ McCarthy’s third year in the system longer than anybody on their roster playing quarterback
