Much tread left? I know he’s had a nasty injury history. We’ll be interesting to see terms.

Interesting timing but I think we might know why, but I think his role will be hybrid S/LB…..mostly LB if I had to guess. Versatile. Might not have a true bearing on whether the Hitman returns or not. He's a lesser than player now. Injuries derailed his time in Seattle and in general. 31 years old by mid October but body might feel older. Not sure what's left in the tank, but hopefully something.

I like it. Former 6th overall pick. Still only 30 (younger than Eric Wilson). Had a disastrous string of bad injury luck between 2022 and 2024, but played a full 17 games last year. I have to imagine this puts Ivan Pace Jr squarely on the bubble. Adams can probably do what Pace did for us but not kill us in coverage. I'll defer to BFlo on where they put him, but where he lined up for the Raiders looks downright Metellusish.

Is it at all possible that he could be the backup to the Van Ginkle?

I don't really understand who's roster spot he'll end up taking. Pace does seem most at risk.

With another year of recovery, it is possible he has regained some speed and they are looking at him at safety which is a position of need.

My first thought in seeing this is with a fairly young defense, they could be looking to add some veteran leadership.

Teasley's first move as GM.

Pace plays a lot of Special Teams. I doubt Adams will be playing Special Teams given his age and injury history. So if it’s Pace who is in jeopardy they will need to find/use someone else on the Special Teams units. Hopefully someone who will not make a mistake and give up a long kickoff or punt return that might cost us a game.

Allowed numbers for secondary are up to #49. So..he's primarily a Linebacker with that number.
