5 weeks until the rookies and QBs report.....wow. Be here before we know it. We can all store our speculators, outrage machines and portable overreactors in the garage until then. Or will we? 🤔

Indeed. There is now a very real and direct connection between his behavior and his paycheck. We'll see how smart he is.

Well, if he had addiction problems it wouldn't just be during the off-season, so I'm not betting on that one

Poor decision making? Yah, that shoe fits.

Will Vikings really pay him $30mm per? I have my doubts they commit that much to the WR room, but maybe Teasley will surprise me?

He did have that little problem in Ireland. I think the Vikings try to extend him for a reasonable amount of money but his agent will drag it out to free agency. Then his price will be too high, and he will be gone. A trade should be a consideration next year if it plays out that way.

I think he just needs to show maturity growth this next 10 months, if he lapses they focus on moving him next offseason, if he can hold it together and show that he has a future in this league, then they will try and re-sign him unless the money gets crazy. He has shown he may be a #1, but in reality his career stats are largely built by playing opposite of the best receiver in the league.

The wildcard in this equation is Jauan Jennings. Because if he shows out as WR3 this season, the team could elect to sign him as WR2 and move on from Addison. If Felton continues to develop during the season & looks like he can handle the WR3 duties, then you go into 2027 with JJ, JJ & Felton as your top 3 WRs. If Felton's development flatlines, then you can sign a lower level FA WR or choose one in next year's draft. Under either scenario, you're spending significantly less on the WR corp.

JMO, Jennings isn't WR2 material. He didn't have a huge market waiting for him this offseason. Honestly, he's a little slow and lacks explosiveness but uses that big body well and is a blocking machine at WRer. I think he's a one and done in Minnesota so Tai can get another year of seasoning.

Yet he was WR2 in SF last season. 55 catches, 643 yds. & 9 TDs. When the Vikes were pursuing him, the consensus was that he wouldn't sign here because he wouldn't get the opportunities here that he had in SF.

The market for Addison is now set at $30M or more annually. The only way that we're getting close to Addison's production without paying the market rate is to draft a WR in the first round either next year or in 2028.

RandBall: Don’t assume Kyler Murray is QB1. The Vikings have more invested in J.J. McCarthy.

Me too...

But you know? I hope Kyler has a great year and if JJ gets his chances? I hope he does a great job too. I got no issue if the kid grows a bunch and ends-up leading this team to lots of victories in the future (and gets the bag).

Ive said it b4 and it bears some repeating, it's just a weird fan time right now. Even for this franchise with QB's and its history.
