#1 Positional Group in Franchise History Is....
Which would you vote as the #1 positional group in the franchises history? Wide out or Dline?
Strong, strong case could be made for either imo:
Wide Receiver:
Carter/Moss/White/Rashad/Reed/AC/Jettas/Thielen
DLine:
Page/Randle/Eller/KW/Doleman/Allen/Marshall/Millard/Thomas/Larsen or Williams (phat pat)

I'd be curious to see an unbiased source rank the NFL's best position groups in history. Even though the D line is winning this poll, there are other teams who've had great DLs. I don't think another team can come even close to our all-time WR group. I mean, when you go 8 deep without even listing Stephon Diggs, it says something.

Greatest show on Turf had a pretty decent WR group to trot out there...Swann/Stallworth were pretty dang good too as were some 49'er WR groups.
But yah, MN may have as many ore more from that grouping compared to anyone.

5 HOF'ers on DL and 2 HOF'ers from WR position. Gotta go with DL

I would have guessed more HOF'ers than 2 from that WR group. Carter and Moss I imagine.

Yeah, look at those guys. Most were the best of their era and 2 might be in the realm of best WR ever.
Dline is a bit broader because it included DE and DT.
Didn't even mention Anthony Carter, Gene Washington, Sammy White, Ahmad Rashad, probably other guys I'm forgetting. To me it's WR. We've consistently had great wideouts for 50+ years. I can't say that about dlinemen. From John Randle in the 90s to now there's Jared Allen at HOF level and who else? It's been a mostly dry run. Danielle Hunter maybe.

2 starters at WR at a time. 4 starters on the DL at a time just to throw a monkey wrench into it? Still end up with more DL per starter but it’s a lot closer.

Several of those guys were mentioned, but your point stands. During the Denny Green days the DL was very bleak.
But we did have the Bernard Berrian days at WR. Thankfully AT and Diggs came along.
Gene Washington was the first big time WR I recall.

Just for some perspective, I looked up the Bears best all time receiver and I'd never even heard of him. Johnny Morris? A popular 2nd is Brandon Marshall. I think BM would be about WR5 our list. Greatest Show on Turf had Bruce and Holt and that's about it. They had Cooper Kupp and Henry Ellard at different times, but compared to our group? Pshaw

Morris ended up being a sportscaster in Chicago. WGN I think. Or WBBM.
