I have to say I am more than a little annoyed that we are this far into the offseason and have yet to hire a GM. This is beyond weird to me. A GM should be here to help layout the longterm vision of the team. They should be here even during offseason activities to see how things are unfolding and readying the team to implement the vision that they are bringing. I just cannot imagine running a business without a full suite of professionals to help steer the business and to do so without one of the most important positions on the staff. It's just..... headshakingly odd.

Is this thing STILL on?

I don't understand how it could be a Flores thing, I really don't. The question I have is the timing of KAM's firing. Why then?

The Wilf operation imo has been in fuck around and find out mode since day one in 2005. Questionable moves and resulting awkward situations aplenty. No consistent playoff appearances, division titles or genuine contending teams (2009 excepted). They are good at their core business of real estate, so, hurrah.

If this g.m. search with umpteen candidates and a room full of interviewers that includes everyone but the janitor culminates in, "Well we're just gonna promote Brez now", then I'd say we're well positioned for the FAFO to continue.😎

Yeah, I've read all the complaining about the Wilfs.....I'm not a subscriber to that train of thought. Get in line with every other fanbase that hates their owners, which probably covers 85% of NFL fans. If any organization starts listening to their fans, couldn't think of a worse course of action honestly. Fans = bitching. Tale as old as time.

Bingo!!

The KAM firing timing I can't piece together. Could have come from a particular event or just a spur of the moment de-heading?

It doesnt really matter now, but I would still like to know what precipitated things.

One thing I am convicted about is that this comes from the KAM directive to KOC to start JJM. AND he admits blowing the Dimes discussions. That decision torpedoed the 25 season AND it threw McCarthy to the wolves b4 he was ready, so it hurt him too.

The Vikings’ GM search is reaching its final stages, with interim GM Rob Brzezinski and Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray having interviewed on Tuesday, and Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley, Broncos assistant GM Reed Burckhardt and Rams assistant GM John McKay scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. After that, it’ll be decision time.

Im sure we will.... its just a matter of which weekend. Honestly at this point does it matter if they tale all summer? What they have in place gave us a good offseason to this point, dont really need the position "filled" anytime soon. Its not like the franchise is at a standstill.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Agreed, but I still think its done in under 7 days from today. At least an offer is made.

I agree with PF I think it was who said we need some fresh eyes. This organization has not had nearly enough success recently to be prioritizing internal candidates or ones with connections to our coach. Brez has been a champ for us for a long time but I hope they hire the Bills, Seahawks, or Rams guy.

My money is on the Bills dude.

I think Brez will be the guy that McKay and KO essentially report to. Something I have mentioned. McKay will be a glorified head scout IMO

I mean… I’ll be the first to glorify him if he can find us better players lol. You say this like it’s a bad thing.

Yup. It's funny because g.m. in the public's perception has become this all-important draft guru shit that fans have such a hardon for. Back in the day coaches and scouts ran drafts and g.m.s did contracts and other business. A lot of them had no football background, just business or law typically.

It wasn't necessarily better but today, NFL teams are much bigger businesses and the drafting process involves so many people and so much data, it makes sense that teams are starting to divvy up the g.m. role into its components with different guys handling different parts of the job. Everything evolves all the time like it or not.
