I'm torn. Sure, nice to have a familiar face mentoring guys but part of me is wondering if he'd be a weak link in the secondary? He's 37 years old. His best days are behind him undoubtedly.

I think he'd be nice to have for the rooks, especially the kid from the Canes...But there is also experience in that room too w/out him.

I think he is a very intricate part of what Flores did last year. I am hoping for another year.

You're damn right. If Harry wants back in, we take him with open arms. The dude doesn't have to be the fastest. Just the smartest and he's quite clearly that.

I’m thinking early August the itch kicks in.

the question isnt if we would be getting a prime Hitman, we know that ship sailed, the question is whoever we could get to replace him going to provide more than a past his prime Hitman could bring to the table, I say not likely. even at 80% HS is out playing most of the S in the league just on knowing where to be pre snap and by being able to hide his role so well.

I think he could still be valuable on 3rd downs and obvious passing situations. He created so much havoc at the line of scrimmage, especially late last season, with blitzing, deflecting balls, etc. Given his age and declining speed/agility, I think he would work best in a more limited role.

I seem to remember Harry saying something to the effect that when he retires nobody will even know or hear about it, unfortunately that kind of feels like what’s happening now…

Somebody has to teach Thomas. However, I think when they sent Ham and Harrison off the way they did, the team knew it was over.

He's going to be diminished for sure, but it seems some fans are highly nostalgic. Not sure why Harry would act like he's done last year and then come back, but I think even the most stalwart of players are susceptible to changing their minds about retirement. Saying The Hitman at 37 is better than '80% of the safeties in the NFL' is hogwash. But for me, I'd rather debate that then see it on the field and feel bad for him and it hurt the team.

I think you are underestimating the way the game has changed, the brute physicality has been partially replaced by smarts and thats where HS has been so beneficial, and many others have failed. You dont have to out run the opponent when you know what hes going to do before he does it. He can still play the position near the top of the game.

I wasn't especially impressed with Harry in 2023. Thought he was done then. But he played better in 2024 and 2025. I'd play this just like the Vikings are likely going to. If he wants to come back after training camp, his locker room is there. Love to have him. But we're preparing as if he's done.
