Vikings request GM interview with Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray

The Vikings have started the search process for their next General Manager and the first outside candidate for the job has been identified.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that they have requested an interview with Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray. The Vikings fired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in January and executive V.P. of football operations Rob Brzezinski assumed the duties with a plan in place to conduct a full search after the draft.

Gray has been with the Bills since 2017, but he spent the previous 11 years as a scout for the Vikings so there he has familiarity with the organization ahead of any interview. He has also worked for the Chiefs during his time in the NFL.

Brzezinski could also be a candidate to take the job on a permanent basis and more candidates will likely surface in the coming days.

Interesting.....I thought all of this was going to be private? I guess not, here we go. I think unfortunately Terrance is going to be their obligatory minority interview candidate and are getting it out of the way. He's interviewed for multiple opportunities the last few years and zippo.

Yeah no kidding didn't Mark Wilf say the names wouldn't be revealed during the search?

It's why I believe in the old saying, how do you know when the Wilfs are lying? You know it whenever their lips are moving.

That may be what they wanted, but it was never realistic. The NFL is a gossipy bunch with all the execs, agents, etc. There is no way to keep this type of stuff under wraps.

I would assume they asked his agent not to leak. And asked people in their own building not to. But Pelissero has contacts there. Someone's leaking. Why? Just for kicks, just for fuck you Mr. Wilf who pays my salary? Just curious.

This just seems like a safe comfortable choice for the Wilfs to interview. What have the Bills ever done except draft Josh Allen, yet they still haven't won anything. Oh yea they have lost 4 Super Bowls. Ties to the Vikings, hell yea lets interview this guy.

This is why the Rooney rule needs to go away... its just to easy to assume that the interview is due to skin color so they can check a box. I dont know this guy from Adam, but that was kind of my first thought as well. If there were no mandates I dont think that thought is part of the conversation, but we've seen it to many times in the past.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

If he's hired, Buffalo receives a comp pick next year. It gives their fans something to get excited about in the offseason

In all fairness, since Allen got there they've consistently made the playoffs & have been drafting at the back end of every round. Other than missing on Keon Coleman the WR from FSU who they selected in the 2nd round of the 2024 draft, they've had some very solid drafts. Much better than ours. I know, not saying much.

I am hoping they find someone who has an eye for talent; one who can scout and have an uncanny ability to know if a player can transition to the NFL as well as know their general value in the eyes of other teams so as to pick them in the most advantageous spot. That's all I'm looking for.

Each team has to designate someone as the primary football executive. This doesn’t have to be the GM.

And even with that, there is a reality of who really has the most juice. I’m guessing when all is said and done, it’s KOC.

Last team I would go to for a GM. Their GM Beane is horrible and not someone I would want to have my GM learned from.

Best QB in the league, but they can't grasp the concept of getting him someone to throw to, which is what has kept them out of the Super Bowl every year. Name a WR on their team. Embarrassing in the playoffs their best WR was Brandin Cooks who they picked up weeks prior to playoffs. To fix it they used a 2nd on a declining DJ Moore who the Bears wanted to get rid of and drafted one WR which was in the 4th round.

Maybe KOC is the real power, so it won’t really matter.

Add the Chargers' assistant GM Chad Alexander to the mix. Just keep it very hush hush.
