Bengals Salary Cap
Anyone else wondering how the Bengals are managing the cap with all of their recent moves? My guess is this will all blow up on them beyond '27, but they are all in on 2026. Some contracts:
Burrow: 5 years/ $275m
Chase: 4/161
Higgins: 4/115
D. Lawrence: 3/70
Mafe: 3/60
Bryan Cook: 3/42
O. Brown: 2/32
J. Allen: 2/25
They even have the highest paid kicker in the league at 3/16.5

Dallas made Aubrey the highest paid kicker yesterday at 4 yrs, $28M btw.
The only way you cover those salaries is to rely on the draft...something we couldn't do because we had the smartest guy in the NFL handling our draft....
Yep, they are loading up for bear this year and if this doesn't work, expect them to possibly auction off Joey Burrow next offseason and rebuild. There's a potential contractual out period after the 2027 season that would only hit them for $15 million against the cap, so it might be two-year window for the Bengals. Joey needs to stay healthy.
I think this offseason the Bengals were forced to envision a future without Burrow and they didn't like what they saw, so they're going for it while they still have that elite QB/WR/WR combo. But in doing so, they way WAY overpaid for Dexy and it does make you question what things are going to look like in Cincy in a couple years. This was the first time a non-QB has been traded for a top 10 pick since Moss. Lawrence is a great DT, and I'd love to have him. But he's still just a DT.

3 years 70M is a steal for Dexter. New collective bargaining agreement comes in 2030(?), which everyone says will bring new cash to all the teams salary cap situation, so if they can kick the can only a couple years they should be good.
I think the real question is, why did he force a trade to not get much more money?
I believe they added a year and $30 million to Dexter with an extension. He was scheduled to make $20m in 2026 and $22 in 2027 on his deal with the Giants. By adding an additional year at $30m and guaranteeing more of the dollars, he is effectively at 3yrs/$70m.
Burrows can't stay healthy...
Terrible ownership
We'll see if they can get some mojo for 26? I have my doubts.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
