Do we win the game without Wentz
He was far from perfect, but the 40 yard TD to Jets and the 16 yard TD on 3rd and 8 to TJ were about as perfect as you could throw a ball. Nice throw to get it out to Jets on the other TD and great pass on the 2 point conversion which at the time was a huge play. He got really lucky on the drop pick and he had a few bad misses, but for most of the game the OL protection was absolutely horrible and was not getting any time, yet he stayed calm and think his veteran presence helped keep the team steady.
I am not sure Murray makes those plays, only a few series, but he looked extremely uncomfortable back there. Wentz seems steadier and a better fit for offense. Only one game, but think for this game they made the right choice for QB2.
Its really hard to say, Murray just wasn't in long enough....but he sure didn't look great the little time he was in. He looked fidgety and out of sorts, might be the combo of not playing since last October and wanting to do well with his new team. Gannon played him perfectly right out of the gate, which I was worried about. JMO, although I have some thoughts, I'd have to say in fairness to your question, its tough to know.
I think Wentz will be starting this Sunday against Chicago (Murray returns the following week) and you'll see more warts when a team has a full week to prepare for him. I don't like the matchup for Game 2. 😒
until I am convinced otherwise... no, I dont think Murray wins that game, and I am pretty sure JJM doesnt either. Like it or not, Wentz might be the best passer on the roster, doesnt make him the best QB, but I think he is capable of driving this offense, especially if he gets a weeks worth of reps like a starter should get.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Wince was horrible until he wasn't. Kyler would have similarly settled in over a few series. He'll obviously miss next week in the protocol, but likely be back either week 3 or 4. This looked severe as concussions go, with the fencing thing, but luckily Murray doesn't have a history of concussions.

I forgot how hard it was to watch Wince last year. He is good to come in and clean up, but there were some serious WTF moments. I think he gives you 3 or 4 great plays and 3 or 4 WTF was that plays every game. You just have to hope the WTF plays aren't back breakers. I can't tell you how many times I was yelling "MOVE" right before he was swallowed up on a sack. I believe at this stage of his career, Wentz can "drive" the car, but he isn't going to win you many games, but he sure can lose you one.
At this point I feel like you got nothing to lose by running JJM out there....I know, I know...he's terrible and blah blah. But he has wheels can run some of the type offense you wanted Murray to run and if he can keep from getting hurt can make a play or two. I also know this won't happen.

No it won't. Not yet anyway. As I've said before, I'd rather have JJ QB2 than Wentz. But I think Wentz earned the job at least one more week.

Doogie was saying on his show last night that K1 appeared fine after the game and was hanging around laughing and having fun with his family there.
But I fully suspect Wentz to start this Sunday.
Way too early to tell on K1...He and Banks both havent played since what? Last October??
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

If Kyler gets cleared for the Bears game do you guys want him to start?
This summer he won a sham competition against the worst QB of all time (allegedly) and looked like a deer in the headlights yesterday whereas Wentz made a lot of really nice throws. The 2 point conversion to Jefferson through traffic was awesome. Seamball to Hock for the TD was on point.
This team benching the one guy who's actually looked semi-competent playing QB for us would be a really strange choice. I really hope KO at least gives Wentz enough rope to hang himself with (or lasso a victory!) this week. Last year Wentz had a shoulder issues that were a lot worse than we found out until later. The deep ball he chucked to Jefferson yesterday is not a throw he could make last season for us. I don't think he's the savior but I think you gotta ride the hot hand for now.
Too early to tell. I think there’s probably some validity to Wentz having a full season in the system and that’s some sort of advantage. I wouldn’t be surprised if Murray takes until midseason to really get the offense down. It’s not an easy offense. I also think most of the stuff that happened to the offense under Murrays time was sort of normal first game issues, namely it looked like we had protection issues early, and eventually figured it out and how to protect the pocket a bit, but most of the comeback was on the back of the defense, and that one drive where GB repeatedly shot themselves in the foot on third down.

He's not going to be ready for the Bears game. But yeah, when he clears protocol, of course he's going to be the starter. To think otherwise is a ridiculous overreaction.

Yah, past game show they were saying the whole playbook has been evolved for a more athletic and shorter stature guy...They'll tweak it a bit for Wentz this week - but tweak is the operative word.
I fully expect K1 back by game 3.
I hope with some time, he knocks the rust off and settles in.
We'll see...

Wentz was wentz. Nice throw to Jefferson on that long TD, although I thought he was looking to check it down at first. The 2pt conversion was a great throw. But often held the ball too long, wasn't decisive and had his typical struggles with accuracy. He may have worse mechanics than JJ.

How can you say that as if it is fact. Did you see him play? WTF man. Kyler would have settled into what? Throwing his hospital balls instead? Nothing he showed would say he would settle into anything.
