Says it will be a "week-to-week" thing as to whether Wentz or JJM occupies the QB 2 slot.

We are so screwed for the future...we will be good enough to be "forced" into once again overpaying for mediocrity at the QB spot due to the fear of not having a serviceable QB, and not having the draft capital to take the guy we want or the teams wanting to move out of the necessary draft slots.
Maybe new GM will do things differently....but I dont see our luck changing at the position, and thats what it really takes to find that franchise guy is luck IMO, but getting lucky is better if you dont hamstring your odds by overpaying/overpaying for mediocrity, which is what I am afraid we are doing with Murray and Wentz in the long term picture.

Luck happens. Just not all the time. Teams have to be disciplined enough to draft them when they are available. Lamar Jackson happened. Aaron Rodgers happened. Drew Bree's happened. Russell Wilson was good enough and happened. Mahomes was within reach from a playoff caliber team.

I think the bigger issue for us is that you need to draft AND develop the QB and we're still pretty unsuccessful at developing a QB from scratch.

We draft a QB. He blows out his knee and in the next year he either misses, gets hurt in or leaves the game due to injury in 29 of 34 games and it’s the team’s fault for not having patience?

One other point is that if you really want someone you can trade up for a QB, it's not against the law to do that. Some of those you mentioned Mahomes and Josh Allen were traded up for by playoff teams, you don't need to tank if there is good scouting and conviction. I can say in my life as a vikings fan (1980s to present) they have mostly been very conservative when it comes to drafting, with a few exceptions. They need to take more swings at the most important position in the draft not just once every ten years because they screw up and freak themselves out.
