Saw The Odyssey last night. Truly one of the most epic theater experiences of my life. Couple of minor quibbles about too-long fight scenes, but we were all slack-jawed by it. Odysseus is a badass.

Any time I get to see some Zendaya its a good day...

Odysseus is a badass, agreed.

We all enjoyed it quite a bit!

I thought it was a solid B, so I thought iwas a good movie. I don’t think it was remotely close to an epic movie and I doubt I’ll bother watching it again.

I loved the tales as a kid.

Fair enough...It was one of those subject matters that would have been easy to put together poorly within one movie.

I appreciated how tight they kept it.

I'm a big Damon fan too.

Yeah, U can see where some would really get into it, but my wife and I both walked out thinking it was good, not great. We are really looking forward to I Play Rocky. We’ve been watching all the Rocky movies for its 50th year celebration.

Watched Ep1...

On the fence for me, we'll see. Gotta see some more.

My wife was a thumbs down, I'll be on my own with this one.

Fiancé is on a cruise so I took advantage of 100% remote control. My expectations were low going in and I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

Seasons 1 & 2 of The Agency is currently streaming on Paramount+. Previously, you had to subscribe to the Paramount+/Showtime combo. If espionage shows are your thing, I strongly recommend.

Went to see THE END OF OAK STREET last night and it was super fun. Thrilling, intense at times, funny.

I am soooo happy people are making movies like Sinners, Weapons, Obsession, and now this one, again.

Loving these scary movies that have enough levity and cleverness baked into them that they appeal much wider (and most importantly, to me :P) than the super serious, Blumhouse/Eli Roth/Michael Meyers reboot gorefests that seemingly dominated the genre for about 20 years.

My wife got me sucked into Dutton Ranch...Little bit of this generations Dallas

Dont "F" with Rip!

Silo S2 was good, I think better than S1.

I was entertained the more we got into S3 of House of the Dragon.

Widows Bay and S2 Your Friends and Neighbors were probably 2 of our fave late summer nights watches.

Odyssee was a C- and that is generous. Unbelievable how badly they fucked up that story. Just atrocious. There was some decent fight scenes but as far as the story. Just remarkably horrible. Ho they missed out on the "I am nobody" is just beyond embarrassing for anyone that knows the story. And the dialog??? Holy crap weaving in modern day American English was a choice.... a poor one but a choice nonetheless. Beautiful cinema and props for not using much if any cgi, but this was a barf from the git. It did nothing to showcase Odysseus's wit and trickery which is what annoyed the God's and it didn't showcase the gods at all and making Athena a mute was just wrong.

The movie was more of Nolan just bastardizing a story and wrapping it in Hollywood hype. At second thought this film was a solid D.

House of the Dragon is just more money grabbing. I feel like I have to watch it out of obligation at this point.

Someone had to say it. The Odyssey was garbage. Packaged for the dummies and short attention spanned youngsters. If you've never read Homer's The Odyssey then you'll not understand how crap this 'movie' is, so I get it if some people liked it for other reasons without having read it.

Ehhh. It's a movie not a book. I agree they left a lot out and some of it was sorely missed, but I liked what was there. It's not my favorite movie of the year or anything but I thought it was cool. My biggest critique is how episodic it felt. Every 10 mins we were in a totally new scene and place with totally new objectives. That works a lot better on the page than in the theater.

It is one of the oldest stories to have ever been told though.; Missing the entire point of the story is pretty unforgivable IMHO. But it's an art piece so I give it grace to be judged by each. I thought it was pretty awful.
