Looking at both sides of the Greenard-Vikings split, here are two painful cases in point to prove why Greenard was right to ask for more money and why interim GM Rob Brzezinski was perhaps right to say the team couldn't comply:
1.Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen is costing the Vikings $12.7 million in dead money.
That’s $2.9 million more than the Bengals are paying Allen to actually play for them this season.
2. Defensive tackle Javon Hargrave is costing the Vikings $10.5 million in dead money.
That’s $2.8 million more than the Packers are paying Hargrave to actually play for them this season.

Those two were busts all day long. Makes you wonder who made those decisions. We know Kwesi signed off on them. But I find it incredibly hard to believe he went rogue on those decisions without consulting Flores, which seems to be what everyone wants to believe. Who knows, maybe it's true.
At any rate, Vikings rank 11th in the NFL in most dead money, and is about a fourth the amount of dead cap carried by the team with the most.

Hopefully Caleb Banks ($3.9m 2026 cap number) and Big Citrus ($1.3m 2026 cap number) can make up for the Allen and Hargrave dead cap hits.

I was questioning the same thing, who the hell signed off on those 2?
I cant help but wonder if there was some (a lot?) of discontent on their part and how BFlo ended up using them during the season?
