We had a rough time against the run when Gink was out. Really like this pick.

This guy just screams BFlo versatility.

From the videos looks more like an edge than LB, reminds more Van Ginkel some, seems very athletic.

The beauty of BFlo's D is where is the heat coming from? Every set looks similar until the snap of the ball. No opposing offense can compartmentalize players because they are so versatile. If you're underrating the Golday pick, you aren't grasping what a force he'll be in this D.

Cannot stress enough that in a division with Kraft, Loveland, and LaPorta, this is a fantastic get. Plus he’s an excellent run defender.

I like this pick on many levels...versatility, athleticism, size...and the future.

Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.

Hand in glove fit for BFlo

Key details regarding Golday's position:

Transitioned Role: He played defensive end at Central Arkansas before becoming an off-ball, "overhang" linebacker at Cincinnati.

Versatility: While playing off-ball, he retains the physical traits of an edge defender and is used as a "movable chess piece" to rush the passer or drop into coverage.

Strengths: He excels in closing passing lanes from sideline to sideline, possesses high-level blitzing ability, and is a reliable tackler.

Projected Fit: He is viewed as a hybrid linebacker suited for modern NFL defenses, often described as a "Prototypical Flores defender" (referring to Vikings DC Brian Flores) due to his ability to play multiple linebacker spots.

All that was missing from that blurb was the comparison to Van Ginkel.

Golday is a much more rugged and aggressive tackler than Gink, but they do have similarities other than that.

Golday looks like a starter kit to back up and potential take over for Van Ginkel. If you look at it in the prism that we traded away Greenard, but after selecting Golday - It makes a bit more sense. You have 2 pretty good pass rushers in Van Ginkel and Turner. Then you add in Golday. Plus whatever we can get out of the Banks. The pass rush looks improved.
