Analysis: The Vikings know they must nail the 2026 NFL Draft. Their future depends on it...
Agreed and have been saying as much for a bit now. Big Draft for Minnesota starting tomorrow. KAM took us to the edge of the abyss: A good QB1 and this upcoming Draft can reverse course quickly. If the team stares too long, the abyss will stare back.

Yeah this is a massive draft in a lot of ways because whoever is going to take over the GM position needs to have a solid draft as the rock to step up from. If they are coming into a complete shit show that could mire us in mediocrity at best for a while.

Pretty simple, top needs are DL and clarity at QB1. After that? The usual suspects at S, C, RB...
Time to go!!
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Nailing the draft is vital for every team.
That said, It’s a two fold process. You have to draft and develop players. All criticism can go both ways, to the people that are here and the person that no longer is here. For every KAM can’t draft players, it’s also the coaches didn’t develop them.
Maybe the only part of the equation that I think you can put on KAM that doesn’t apply to KOC and Flores is all the draft picks that were traded away (which is important), but it also implies that if we did it better, we wouldn’t have Turner. We wouldn’t have had Hockenson, we wouldn’t have had less of an opportunity to trade up for Maye (which by all accounts was KOC’s preferred QB)

I mean yes and no. There’s also when a GM drafts a kid who isn’t going to fit into the scheme or the system. And then there is also drafting a kid with a lot of risk whether that is health or other factors. Being a GM is a tough job. There are a lot of factors and a lot of people to keep happy. I wouldn’t want that job. They are the middleman between ownership and coaches. Tough job. But I sure as shit wouldn’t trade first round picks inside the division.

Rarely do players fail at one organization and then go to another and be successful due to coaching. Mostly they just ramble around, becoming depth on the charts of various teams. NFL coaches overwhelmingly are decent at least, but of course some are better than others. In the few cases they improve, its mostly due to their own increased maturity or renewed efforts to get better on their own and realize that it takes a new level of dedication.
