2026 Free Agency and Draft: RB
I think I'd add Wake Forest's Demond Claiborne to this list linked below. This class doesn't have the depth of last year's class, but right now it seems there are 7 RBs that I'd be pretty happy with: Love, Price, Coleman, Johnson, Washington, Claiborne and Singleton. While I loved Singleton the first time I put him on (he's the best physical specimen in this class) his poor final season does cause some concern.
Still, unless we bring back Aaron Jones, and I doubt we do, we need a starter on day one, so I think this could be a position where we tap into the free agency market. Breece Hall, Travis Etienne and Kenneth Walker III all free agents, with Etienne the most likely to hit the market IMO.

Nebraska RB Emmett Johnson said the #Vikings are “definitely interested” in him. Johnson, the Minneapolis native, met with Minnesota a few times, including on a top 30 visit:

It was painful to watch him. Dullest RB tape I can recall.

Like I said earlier, Kipers latest has Washington to Vikings in 2nd
Delp to Philly
Rodriguez to TB (#46)
Chicago does well with Stukes and Logan Jones all in the 2nd.
Honestly? I'd rather have Delp then Washington and grab a RB later.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Here's a day three/UDFA RB I like...

Vikings are going to take one with one of those top 4 picks by the end of round 3. Zero doubt in my mind. JMO, but its going to be 3 defensive players and a RB already selected by the start of round 4.
Final RB rankings...
Tier 1
1 - Jeremiyah Love - 6-0, 212
The good: Easily the best overall. Great speed, SPECIAL change of direction. Still only 20.
The bad: He looked a little skinny to me the first time I watched him in ’24. I’d bet he was at least 15 lbs lighter then. He was also just 19 years old.
Tier 2
2 - Jadarian Price - 5-11, 203
The good: The good is that he doesn’t really have any bad (high floor). LOVE his vision, best vision in this class IMO. Like Aaron Jones, an efficient, aggressive runner who plays bigger and faster than he measured in Indy.
The bad: Didn’t measure particularly big or fast. Some elements don’t add up.
3 - Jonah Coleman - 5-8, 220
The good: Best contact balance in the class. Quick, strong, good pass blocker, good receiver.
The bad: 5-8 and no long speed. I think there’s a reason he’s yet to run a forty. He could fall to day three.
Tier 3
4 - Emmett Johnson - 5-10, 202
The good: Good feel for zone, great quickness and lateral movement, good hands
The bad: Runs too upright. His change of direction is like a bullfighter. Dances too much, lacks long speed, not the best pass blocker
5 - Nick Singleton - 6-0, 219
The good: Terrific blend of size and speed. Really good receiver and a pretty good pass blocker too
The bad: Foot surgery. Despite his size, he Isn’t a particularly powerful or angry runner. Not a lot of creativity, wiggle or make-ya-miss.
6 - Demond Claiborne - 5-10, 188
The good: Good speed, best burst in class, zone runner, good receiver.
The bad: Small frame, five fumbles last year, needs work in pass pro
Tier 4
7 - Kaytron Allen - 5-11, 216
The good: Decent power. Good inside vision and contact balance. If you need 2, he’ll get you 3.
The bad: If you need 5, he’ll get you 3. Slowish. Like his teammate, not a lot of creativity, wiggle or make-ya-miss.
8 - Mike Washington - 6-1, 223
The good: Terrific athlete. Best size/speed combo in the draft. He’ll go much higher than I have him here.
The bad: Couldn’t start at Buffalo or New Mexico State. Needs work in pass pro, not much of a receiver. Boom or bust. Isaac Guerendo?
Sleeper
Robert Henry - 5-9, 196
The good: Good contact balance and vision, especially for a back you can probably still get after the draft. Decent hands
The bad: Small, 24 years old
