Brandel as far as I know. He had his best game of the year against the Chargers, so hopefully he's settling in.

Lions are the best team in the NFL imo.

I'm not predicting anything anymore with these Vikings, but I hope (for themselves and me) they put up a good, competitive showing.

So this is the closest Viking team to what we had on paper at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately the Lions will be the more rested team coming off the bye week. I'm going to be very interested in how this Viking team responds, being that if we had any ideas of doing anything within the division this year, this is basically a must win game and I think the team knows that. Big test for KOC also

This is great to hear about O'Neill.  It was expected that CD would be playing, but the question will be, is he finally off the "pitch count", because that has to stop.  He either plays the full game or isn't ready and doesn't play at all.

I think I'm most excited about Gink coming back, outside of McCarthy of course.  He is a disrupter, an animal on the field, and just a quiet, blue-collar dude who just makes plays.

We knew that Kelly had a couple concussions this year.  Do we really think this is anything more than protecting himself from another, especially so close together?  I really wish Kelly was healthy and didn't have these concussions, but sadly, like Tua, I think he needs to retire before it's too late.

Just going by PFF grade, Brandel's worst game of the year was against the Browns, but that was also his first game playing center, and against a very good front seven to boot. His best game so far was last week against the Chargers.

Weird.  I haven't found a PFF grade for Brandel against the Chargers.  Even still, I couldn't really care less about the PFF grades as I care more about his protection and blocking.  He stand by my statement.  We went against one of the best DLs in the NFL in his first start at C and he performed very well, despite the low PFF grade.

He can just stay on IR as long as he needs to.  He's not forced to come off IR or anything.  I don't think there's any real rush to make a decision, is there?  He does have a 760k roster bonus (which breaks down to 45k a game on a per game basis).  Not really enough to jeopardize his future health over.

I tend to think this is a Kelly-only decision and the team's medical staff is out of it. It's not a pain issue. It's not a mobility issue. It's not even really a time issue. It's a vulnerability issue and there's no predicting that. He could take the year off and then suffer another concussion on his first snap in 2026. He could also start against the Ravens and go another two years without one.

Actually it is a time issue.  The effects of concussions can linger.  Coming back too soon and getting a second concussion when he wasn't healed is why he is on IR.  

I assume he is close to coming back, if not, like you said, he should retire.  

We held one of my boys out his senior year because he ended the year with a concussion, then had a minor accident and smacked his head on the windshield.  He wasn't right for about 6 weeks.  Still has memory issues.

I don’t think you have it quite right.

They have to miss at least 4 weeks.  At some point you designate them for return.  Then they have a maximum of 21 days to practice before they must be put on the active roster or placed on season ending IR.

Heard last night Darrisaw was a DNP yesterday and it wasn't a day of rest, he couldnt/wouldn't go and as such the conversation was about his willingness/desire to get back out there and team maybe needing to make other plans at LT for the future. ( listening to KFan)

I am starting to think Darrisaw's knee issues are more mental than physical.

I think the Vikings may have to rethink OL plans especially with the issues with Kelly and possibly Darrisaw
