Put a skirt on him
Hall of Fame linebacker Jack Lambert once said QBs should wear skirts because of how ridiculous the rules had become about protecting them. He said this in the 70s. He wouldn't recognize the game today.
NFL refs have a very difficult job. I get it. But calling this roughing the passer in the Giants-Saints game is why football fans are so fed up with the league’s officiating.

Wow not sure what more the defender could have done not to make it roughing the passer, he brought him down in the least physical way and totally avoided coming down the QB and putting on body weight on him.

As one responder said "He did everything but tuck him in and sing him a bedtime story." lol. He did make contact with Dart's helmet, but he did it the damn nicest way possible by going facemask first.

Ridiculous...
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
This is the NFL telling refs to protect the QBs...is the internal mandate. When a guy like Joe Burrow goes down, Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, etc. fan support dips significantly in those towns and amongst the bandwagon fans of those players. And they don't get those promos for primetime games that feature 'Joe Burrow against Aaron Rodgers' blah blah blah. Ratings dip a bit for teams missing their starting QBs. Plus this instance is the NY team, a favored TV market for the NFL. JJ McCarthy gets a hip drop tackle and injured: nothing. Jaxson Dart, a New York Giant with all the NY hype, when he has to take in bad breath from a defender, its a personal foul.
Fans bitch but still spend their money on the NFL.
