I had a feeling that both the o and d needed to knock the rust off, so I  kept telling myself to calm down, things would come together.

Whew.

JJ McCarthy showed why he's built different in the 2nd half. Impressive kid after he settled in.

I watched with my dad who is a Bears fan. At no point was he ever remotely comfortable with their lead so that helped to remind me it was still a closeish game and not overreact. Thielen dropping that ball on third down tested my resolve though ha.

No lead for the other team will be safe. Oh and this all happened on the road. MNF. In his first game. Dawg. We tried to tell 'em all, Wet.

No bright lights syndrome.

Tarkenton also did it against the Bears.

Yes, it was like they couldn't do anything right.  Jets was dropping JJ's fastballs.

But the Bears offense wasn't doing much after their scripted plays ran out.

We've been saying it since the months leading up to the 2024 draft...  This is the guy you want for the Vikings.

Speaking of waiting, can't wait to get Darrisaw back. JJ will get even better once the O-line is intact and playing as a one.
Skule definitely contributed to the first 3 quarters malaise.

And the rapport he showed with Addison all camp and preseason...  he'll be a big addition after Week 3.

Yah, this is pretty big...

He's got to get to that level with JJ and TJH too. I suppose we need to throw Theilen in that too now.

Gonna take time...

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

JJ definitely needs to get on the same page.  I think he had 2 drops that looked like he wasn't ready for JJ's fastball.

That game was hard on my brain, my heart, likely a slew of other organs...but nothing heals like a W, especially one where one gets to watch their young QB show big growth within a single event.

The fact that JJM will likely be steadily improving from game to game should be a helluva spectacle...!

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....
