Can you say bad investment…?    Apparently he’s dealing w/ a serious foot reinjury. The club wasn’t happy w/ how he rehabbed from his surgery last October & now believes he needs an additional surgery.

ESPN sources: Raiders are releasing defensive tackle Christian Wilkins with the designation of terminated vested veteran. His time in Las Vegas is now over.

Due to how Wilkins treated the rehab from his foot injury he suffered last season, the Raiders voided the remaining $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on Wilkins contract last month and today, Wilkins filed a grievance with the NFLPA.

It's gonna get weird if Wilkins decides his best path to 2026 Free Agency is thru a 1 year "prove-it" deal in Minnesota.

under his former HC/DC Bflo.

And then play next to Hargrave and Allen.

The Vikings can't pay Wilkins, I get it. The Raiders paid him , 49..7 million .

Vikings were seriously interested in Wilkins two years ago when it apparently came down to the Raiders and us, so I'm be curious to know if we might be interested given the right terms. Health and money would have to be sorted out. But fun to think about him on a 1-year, pissed off prove it deal alongside Allen and Hargrave.

There is some video out there where he's either dancing or goofing around in the weight room that kind of was the final straw. The dude got his bag and got lazy rehabbing, a team's worst nightmare.....but someone else is going to give him another bag next year....or maybe this year depending where he's at on the injury front. For the Raiders to just cut him says they are pissed.

He played in 5 games last season and may not play at all this season, so there’s probably nothing to see here!

I'd guess if there was a reasonable expectation that he was going to play most of the year, the Raiders would have kept him. I'd guess his foot is fucked at least for a while.

So word is trickling out that there was some kind of incident at the facilities? Something weird? I mean, lol, it must have been to just release the guy and eat a shit ton of dead cap money.

Edit: So the rumor is: he tried to KISS another player at the facilities. Yikes.

WTF?!

Not the team bonding Brady was looking for.

Edit, it was supposedly a kiss on top of the head of another player. That reads just a bit different than trying to kiss another player. Still rather objectionable, but way different.

So, is a peck on the top of head kinda like a longer than usual pat on the butt?

I may have jumped the gun with my opinion of him.

Word is the BFlo was asked about him and he said absolutely yes, he'd welcome him in Purple.
He knows him, he knows what's under the hood.
But he deferred to Kwesi and said that those guys handle that and washed his hands.
They're fully aware of his availability (and health, no doubt).
It's almost like it would be better if it was an incident rather than about his foot.

If I jumped the gun with my opinion...I stand corrected.

Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.

weirder than a billionaire owner getting his hair cut at the Helen Keller school of blind barbery?

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

What I heard reported was he kissed a guy on the top of the head in a meeting while joking around and the player took offense and reported him to HR. Perhaps that was the last straw, but the reality is he was cut because of the dispute over how to deal with his injury, which didn't work out for him. Kind of like the Daunte issue the Vikings had.
As they say the best ability is availability, and a player who isn't available to play can't get away with an HR problem like one who is. Especially if cutting him can save a large amount of money voided from his contract.
I think he could be just fine if his injury is healed and, he learned a lesson on how to treat teammates with respect!

I think they found out he's kind of weird, changed a bit when he got the bag and he refused to get an additional needed surgery on that foot so the team cut bait. Still severe and surprising but the team made a choice.

edit: worse than that, lol. Teammate at a presser just now said 'he needs help'.
