As an out of state fan, this is cheap compared to the cost of attending in person.

Network TV for when the Vikings are on: $0
Local Sports Bar when they are not: $12 for beer and a chance to go "BA-OOOO" with my buddies when they score.

Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.

I don't get the ESPN+ thing. Aren't games just on regular old ESPN? And don't I already have that with Youtube TV? The redheaded stepchild in all this is Peacock. Watch, the NFL will put the Vikings in Europe twice and then give them the one and only Peacock game.

Already have YouTube TV and will get the NFL Sunday Ticket. I will not subscribe to any streaming services additionally for the NFL that I don't already have (currently have Netflix, Prime). We get the others when they have the trial specials and then cancel.

Its entertainment just like anything else. You spend your dollars where you want to. People always seem to come up with the cash for things they want (cigarettes, gambling, Starbucks, Iphones, fast food, hunting, gaming, manicures, facials, expensive haircuts, etc.). This is no different. You can still watch the NFL for free, just not as much of it as in the past. If you want to watch more and can't afford it, you don't have to. If you do, you prioritize. But the bottom line is its expensive as hell.

wait until the week before the season and the ticket price drops. last year $249 if I remember correctly. That's not bad for 17 weeks, less than $15/week.

Prime is free if you are a prime member which my daughter is.
and we have Netflix, son's subscription.
I pay for Youtube as my replacement for Directv, about half what I used to pay.

won't pay for any other subscriptions as games will be replayed on NFL network.

And yet, as greedy as they are, they still do not realize that they can make even more money by selling individual team packages.

The last two years in Chicagoland we have had the Vikes on in 9 of 17 and 11 of 17 games on free tv since YouTubeTV took over and doubled prices. That leaves an average of 7 games not on TV. I've decided to do IHeart radio or a bar for the balance. Pretty easy to go and spend $50 or less, so the cost comes in at about $200 to $300 a year. I used to get the package but at some point I just felt enough is enough even if I love watching the Vikes. Also, the NFL network shows many of those games later in the week. And, who really wants to watch a game that we god forbid lose? If we win I'm happy anyways. I've come to peace with not having each game at fingertip access. It's more the issue with how they're trying to screw you than the absolute cost. lol

So you just have one beer then?

Nope, NFL Network and ESPN+ will be the broadcasting arms for both games.....actually all the international games.

I have YouTubeTV, Netflix and Prime. I'm not watching all the games. I watch all the Vikings games and some other games but I am not going out of my way to add more streaming apps

if you have NFL Network, the Vikings will be televised 5 of the first 8 weeks of the season. Only a bye week and 2 games in the first 2 months..., another reason to wait for the ticket to drop it's price.
Week 1: @ Bears (MNF)
• Week 2: vs Falcons (SNF)
• Week 3: vs Bengals (12 PM CT)
• Week 4: @ Steelers (Ireland)
• Week 5: @ Browns (London)
• Week 6: Bye Week
• Week 7: vs Eagles (12 PM CT)
• Week 8: @ Chargers (TNF)

I think all of those games will be on TV in most places. I'll be at the Bengals game, so that leaves only the Eagles in question and I can't imagine that wouldn't be a game broadcast to most of the nation. After that stretch, it's the Lions and Ravens. I could feasibly wait until mid-November to buy the ticket.

According to AI:
YouTube offers a monthly plan for NFL Sunday Ticket at $85 a month (plus $10 for NFL RedZone), which provides flexibility for those who don't want a full season commitment. While you won't get a prorated discount for purchasing a full-season pass mid-season, the monthly option effectively allows you to pay for a shorter duration.

I’ve been sailing the high seas for years. We splurge on other NFL things like a game here and there. They get our money.

Nice, thanks for posting this!

Like MB said, I could see maybe all 7 of these games/first 8 weeks being on tv in my market. Life is just simpler when the game is on tv, and I don’t have to go out of my way to watch.

This also means lots of eyeballs on our boys this season. Rattle off a couple wins and get the hype train pumping!
