Probably one of the guys we should be bringing back. We’ve added great pieces up front but CB is such a weakness.

I think we have our CB that we are going to sign. Asante Samuel Jr. Just waiting for the date to make it official.

Saw some reports linking us to Jack Jones who was released by the Raiders, because we had tried to get him previously. I would hope we would pass based on some questionable character concerns. With what we have done in free agency and with Blackmon coming back do not expect us to pick up another CB outside of the draft.

I’ve convinced myself the rumors on this are true as well.  It just fits in every manner.

I hope he's resigned.

I hope kwesi gets a chance to match any deal he's offered....

He's a sound football player.

Something is up with him because he's a good young player coming off injury.  You'd think teams would have added him by now since we got past the initial "overpay" wave of the first week of free agency.

I think it's likely he has a hand shake deal with a team to sign with after the draft.  Vikings make sense if we want to offer him a contract that would eliminate a comp pick.  If it gets done after the draft, then it doesn't factor in to the formula.

Only thing that makes sense unless teams are THAT worried about his medicals.

I think teams ARE worried about his medicals. It's a neck and shoulder issue, which is bad enough, but Samuel also called it a "lifelong issue." This is part of the reason I think the Vikings rumors may be true. Where other teams see red flags, Kwesi sees value.

Didn't they also suspect some nerve damage along with the neck and shoulder issues.  I can't remember where I read that though.

Lots to be worried about: neck and shoulder issues. Can't think of something worse for a guy on defense that needs to tackle and defend people. Having a handshake deal with him is one thing, giving him a huge guaranteed contract is another, even for a year. I hope KAM isn't that stupid. I mean literally this guy might not make it out of training camp uninjured.

Health issues aside, I think this is probably a 2 maybe 3 year deal. Incentive laden. I have yet to see Kwesi do a FA deal anyone would consider stupid.

I haven't heard anyone express concerns about nerve damage, but I think with the ongoing stingers, that's a pretty logical assumption.

He's a lesser than player IMO. If they can upgrade or think they are upgrading, move on from Griffin.

You'd think handshake deals to circumvent the comp pick formula is bound to blow up in our face?

I'm guessing it won't be a big guaranteed deal.  But anything over 3M per year factors into the comp pick formula.

But not after the draft.

Correct, that's why I'm sure if the Vikings sign him it'll be after the draft because his contract will exceed 3 mil per year.

I think it is a gray area that they are tip toeing on.

I see what you're saying now, and i agree his contract will be well over $3M per year. It will likely be 3 or 4 times that. I think it will be similar to the Marcus Davenport deal a couple years ago. Talented young player, high draft pick, injury concern. MD got 1 year $13M.

Would you really trust a handshake deal with a guy that has neck and shoulder nerve injuries?

lol, not the best kind of deal as it may cause another injury. Can't he just sign the contract without shaking hands?  ;)
