I don't see the Vikings adding a running back in free agency. There's just not much out there. Even if we bring back one or both of Jones and Akers, I think the Vikings will take a RB with one of their first two picks. From this list, I love Jeanty and Henderson. Unimpressed by Skattebo and Neal. With the depth of this class, there's probably going to be good backs still on the board after the draft. One sleeper I like right now is Montrell Johnson, Jr out of Florida.

Pass blocking grades seem dubious.

Love Harvey. Mocked him many times. Very skilled with his footwork and ability to find and hit the hole. He will make a difference to an NFL franchise. If we don't take Judkins/Henderson that is a player I would target after that. I like Giddens as well. Not much talk about him.

I knew he wasn’t fast but I thought he’d be quicker than this . Need to see the 10 yard split.

He is almost in the category of Taysom Hill. Outside of the passing. Scattebo better work on his route running to find a spot lol

He’d be a nice change of pace, 4 minute guy. Very good receiver too. But, not a lead kinda guy.

Overview
Carnage creator with a compact frame and elite contact balance. Skattebo can break through second-level tacklers and careen off of bodies for extended yards after contact. He reads his blocks quickly and is more elusive in the early stages of the run than he’s probably given credit for. He lacks top-end speed and will have to contend with bigger, better tacklers on the next level. Skattebo’s effectiveness as a receiver out of the backfield should add to his draft value. His physicality and edge should bode well for him as a complementary back with three-down value who is capable of helping an offense wear down the defense.

Is Hampton the consensus #2 back?

Seeing more mocks trending this way...

I don't think consensus. Maurice Jones Drew had him ranked like 5th or something like that in his latest rankings and I still see some that have Treveon Henderson rated as the #2 back. I really like Hampton and would be thrilled to draft him or either of the OSU backs. I unfortunately still contend that the Mason acquisition likely eliminates running back from early round consideration. Much more likely they take a mid round back.

If you look at it from a statistical average, yes. From mocks I’ve seen as well, yes.

Patience of LeVeon Bell. Nifty feet. Warning track power if you know what I mean.

Neal is a sneaky one in this draft. Have liked him for a while. Talked with MB a while back on him on a thread. He is a very complete back that really is getting no attention. His college career is impressive, arguably the best player to come out of Kansas.

Funny it took him this long to put Harvey ahead of Skattebo. Hell, I have him ahead of Kaleb Johnson too. Jeanty is in a tier by himself. But if tier two is Henderson, Hampton and Judkins, Harvey is right there at the top of tier 3 in my book. There are a lot of backs in that tier, but Harvey's as good as any of them.
