Reports going around that the Dolphins will release Campbell once they are officially eliminated from the playoffs to allow him to sign on with a contender. The Vikings should really be all over this when it happens. Talk about opportunity filling a need.

He would strengthen the rotation, even at 38

I could see him signing with the Lions too, who need D help even more..

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Campbell has several teams to choose from. We could sure use him though.

Not only could we use him, but I'd offer him more money to keep him out of Detroit

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, but I think every competitive team should be interested in bringing him in, if not just to keep him off other teams.

That said, I don't think the league should allow this to become a precedent, where guys get to force themselves off their own team and go bolster an already good contender for cheap just to chase a ring.

I'm not sure what the rule would need to be, but something like if you were on the same NFL roster for 6 or more games prior to the trade deadline, you're not eligible to join another team after the trade deadline, or something like that.

I completely agree with this. I'm not sure how sports leagues have become a place where the players dictate where and when they want to go. The NBA is the worst. I think James Harden has thrown at least three fits that he didn't want to play on the team he is on and "forced" his way out. Glad the NFL isn't on that level but there's still got to be a checks and balances system.

He has been a beast for the Dolphins this year, by far their best defensive player. He would fill a huge need and would be great to have him for the Lions game, however would he be eligible to play in the playoffs?

I think that's where he's going when it happens.

He has no direct experience with BFlo, hope the locker room legacy is not a negative.  Man the AFC east is a weird geographic division Bills, Jets, Patriots and the Dolphins.  Seems like the Colts and Miami should switch.

Many teams would be interested in Campbell if he is indeed cut.

And if he chooses the Vikings it will tell me something about how NFL players are viewing the Vikings franchise.

You don't need Campbell to sign to understand that Minnesota is widely respected amongst players around the league, not just from a coaching perspective bought also great facilities. Stable ownership, very good culture. Indoor stadium in a cold weather climate. And the $$$.....always a consideration.

Minnesota is absolutely one of the most respected organizations right now.

That said, I don't think Campbell is going to the place with the most respect, but probably the place with the most chance to win a SB however he decides that.
