NFCN ONLY TRADES / RUMORS
A place for NFCN Trades/Rumors only. Let's keep them all in one place. Makes it easier to keep track of our rivalries.
If you want to start a thread about an NFCN blockbuster trade for immediate notice, GREAT! (As I did with the Bears/Titans) It will get merged into this one after a bit though. I hope you all oaky with this.
Thanks everyone 😊

Cris Carter says the #Vikings are not trading for Kirk Cousins, and it would “upset their locker room” if that happened.

Apparently this is some source who said the Simmons trade was happening well before anyone else and also called the Parsons trade as well as a number of others including Crosby and AJ Brown.

Sticky posted rumors of the Simmons trade yesterday or the day b4...Not sure his source though.

multiple firsts seems like an insane decision to me. I’m glad the Bears did it and not us.
Multiple 1sts would have upset me too...Even for a top-tier talent like Simmons.
But he's not too old and signed through what? 2030?
It’s definitely a swing for the fences by Poles and this guy will make a lot of OL look like slow, old, rag dolls.

I get it, but two first rounders is steep.
Bears, Seahawks, Niners all got better this week

Titans GM Mike Borgonzi: Never planned to trade Jeffery Simmons, Bears called us last night
Jeffery Simmons told reporters on Wednesday afternoon that he had not heard anything that led him to expect to be traded during the 2026 season, but things can change quickly in the NFL.
The Titans traded Simmons to the Bears on Thursday in a deal that sent a pair of first-round picks back to Tennessee and General Manager Mike Borgonzi addressed how that came together in a press conference. Borgonzi said he has fielded calls about Simmons more than once since joining the team, but that none of them led him to think that a trade was the right decision until Wednesday night.
“I got a phone call late last night from a person I’ve known for a while, Ryan Poles, the GM from the Bears,” Borgonzi said. “He’s really the only person who came out and said ‘would you accept this?’ You have to take in all the information at that point.”
Borgonzi said that information included “where we are as a team” and how to “really sustain success in the future.” Both of those things pointed toward accepting the offer and that’s what he did after speaking to Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk on Thursday morning. Borgonzi then informed Simmons, who joined “a lot of people” in surprise when they learned how things were going to play out.
Borgonzi said Simmons didn’t want to leave, but that he thinks it is a great opportunity for the veteran to compete at the highest level right now. The Titans have work to do to get to that point and Borgonzi’s tenure will be judged by how well he uses the assets acquired on Thursday in that effort.

Without a doubt, great player. That part sucks for us! They’ve definitely gotten better.

After talking to several NFL teams and GMs over the last hour, my expectation is the trade deadline will be even crazier than anticipated. Chicago’s all-in move will cause other teams to react and try to be bold as well.

There are two routes for a potential major Vikings trade:
— Jason Harmon (@JasonHarmonNFL) October 29, 2026
1. Inject life into a sinking offense
2. Build the most insane pass rush that’s ever been assembled
Don’t ignore the possibility of number two.

Sean Gilbert cost the Panthers 2 firsts in 1998 when the Redskins traded him
Don't trade JJ.

Schefter needs to do better researching. LOL
The Carolina Panthers signed defensive tackle Sean Gilbert to a lucrative offer sheet in April 1998 after he sat out the 1997 season under a franchise tag with the Washington Redskins.
Because Gilbert was designated a franchise player, Washington received two first-round draft picks from Carolina as compensation—specifically the Panthers' 1999 & 2000 first-round picks.

I just don't see the rational in trading multiple #1s for a non-QB. Does it ever really work out. Would anyone say Parsons has made that big of a difference for the Packers. Between the picks and salary, I think this is the type of move that ends up hurting a good young team like the Bears.
THIS. I don't care what anyone says NO non QB is worth two first round picks. Not even Randy Moss, Aaron Donald, or Adrian Peterson in their prime. The Packers really screwed up last year with Micah Parsons and the Bears will lament this trade in the next couple of years. The Vikings traded for Jared Allen for a first rounder and two 3rd rounders and he was by all accounts the premier edge rushing in football at the time and had JUST turned 26. The Bears have a LOT of holes in their roster I cannot believe they think they have the goods to get to the Super Bowl this year? I also read that Simmons did NOT want to leave Nashville and was surprised when he was told of the deal.

Not too old? Are you serious? He will be 30 next season. Unless the Bears win the Super Bowl this year or next this is a bust trade.

Simmons is 29 (I thought he was 28)
I dont know if I'd call him too old yet?
L. Williams (Sea) is 32 and still a monster
Q. Williams (Dal) is 28 and is still a load
C. Jones (KC) is 32 - ok, he's looking old out there now lol!
D. Brown 28, Z. Allen 29
Redmond is just 2 years younger than Simmons at 27.
I dont wish ill will on the guy, but it would be nice if this does come back to bite the bears some.
