Little Shocked No Vikings Trades Yet
I get that all the big swings require a little more posturing and negotiation, but adding some O-line depth with a 5th–7th round pick—or grabbing a Swiss Army knife for Flo—should be a slam dunk. No reason not to make those moves.
I would think (they think) there are areas they can reinforce and maybe even improve on?
My gut says don't wait for a big swing, even though at 6/0 it would seem appropriate.
6/0 doesn't come around often for any NFL team . Its been since 09 that its happened in MN.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Waiting a week gets Taylor under our cap.

Often the best trades are the ones you do not make. The Theilen trade is a good example of a trade that really ended up hurting us. We are not a player or two away unless that player is a QB, so think it is best to stay put unless there is a really great value trade for a younger player.

I cant like this enough, the position that is holding us back is QB.
With that said, we dont need to wait a week to get under the cap for anybody, the money is there for the right player at any time if the need fits the goal. However unless that guy is a QB, or unless KOc is willing to move off Murray, its a wasted move. I have more faith in Wentz or even Brosmer to improve this offense than I do Murray, he is just flat out disappointing.

Yes, waiting until trade deadline week allows the Minnesota Vikings to fully absorb Jonathan Taylor's remaining 2026 salary under their cap. [1]
Current Cap Situation: According to Spotrac, acquiring Taylor right now leaves the Vikings just over the salary cap limit because they have roughly $4.1 million to $4.7 million in available space compared to Taylor's remaining hit of about $5.5 million.
Effect of Waiting: With each passing week during the regular season, a portion of Jonathan Taylor’s annual salary is paid out by the Indianapolis Colts. Waiting another week until trade deadline week reduces the remaining prorated amount owed by the acquiring team, lowering his cap hit enough for Minnesota to absorb him.
Alternative Options: If the Vikings decide to make the move sooner, executive vice president Rob Brzezinski would need to restructure contracts, extend players, or clear space through other roster moves.
But, yes we could right now move money under the cap. It’s just another possibility to explain the situation.

Interesting. If that’s true. Taylor won’t be active this weekend.

You had me til Brosmer. Lol. I think Murray is avg but if we can reinforce weak area with some low round draft picks at RB and OG I’d be okay with that.

I talked about this the other day with buddy. It does the Vikings the well to wait. Teasley is essentially saying I have the upper hand. I don't see any team trading a first. I can see the Vikings doing it if they think it will be low. It isn't a rental. He will be our starting RB.

If they give up a first for a nearly 28 year old RB they should lose their jobs. This team is not a RB away from contending. They will need that 1st to fill the gaping hole at QB1 long term as its pretty evident that we dont have that guy in house already. Hell they shouldn't be trading away day 2 picks either as we have plenty of other future needs as well that are better filled with low dollar rookies.

The kid has stuck for a reason, and one thing he does is get the ball out quick and isnt afraid to throw into tight places. I don't know if he will ever amount to anything, odds are pretty long, but I do know that we aren't getting even close to adequate QB play from our current starter and I am fairly convinced its the lack of a passing game that is hurting the O, and honestly hurting the run game as well.

Interesting. After jettisoning their all pro guard and defensive tackle, it's hard to see Taylor even wanting to stay. Can't remember who it was, but I caught something the other day about a Colts player wanting out. You have to believe that's not an uncommon feeling in Indy right now.

I think it was a WR, Downs I think.

It could be that they are waiting until the deadline just in case there’s an unexpected injury at a key position we have two games before the deadline a lot could happen between now and then
