This is why I watch football with music on…
…and the broadcast team off. The hype is unhinged now:

Wow, that's nuts. It made me look up how many concussions Aikman had. 10 documented.

Its a narrative the broadcast partners push hard: hype....every ex-announcer says the same thing. Fans like hearing good things about their favorite team's players, especially the casuals. Aikman goes off the deep end here but most are not that far behind. Its worse than its ever been because of social media. Its certainly normal for a team like the Chiefs and Mahomes, beyond nauseating.
They always hype the team that's winning or are the national media darlings. Troy Aikman is as good a color commentator as anyone in football.
Not much changes
YEARS ago there was a perennial frontrunner (I think it was the Niners in the '80's) who were getting their asses handed to them & all the commentators could talk about was how great the NINERS were. (It wasn't our '87 playoff game, but around the same time) Maddening.
I'm thinking, "What game are YOU watching"?
“He’s is as good a________as there is in all of football.” He repeats this dozens of times like a glitched out Stepford Wife stuck on a loop. Troy Aikman is as good at using Weasel Words as there is in all of football.
