The new GM and the looming Qb decision...
His first big decision will be the same one that faced Adofo-Mensah after he replaced Rick Spielman: Determining the Vikings’ future at quarterback.
J.J. McCarthy said this week he has been told there will be “open competition” for the starting QB job after the Vikings signed former Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray to a one-year deal in March, and the conclusions Teasley and O’Connell reach about the two players will have plenty to do with how the decision plays out.
The Seahawks held a pre-draft interview with McCarthy, who worked with coach Mike Macdonald at Michigan, before the Vikings selected him six picks ahead of where Seattle was picking in the 2024 NFL draft.
And like O’Connell did four years ago, Teasley comes to Minnesota after a career in the NFC West, where the Seahawks faced Murray twice a year.
His familiarity with both players will shape how he views them as he starts his time with the Vikings, where decisions on both Murray and McCarthy loom after this season.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
He has a huge challenge to work through regarding the QB position. There is not an established starter, the likely starter for this year is on a 1 year contract and then you have an openly disgruntled 3rd year guy. Would be interesting to know what his thoughts are coming in. I think that it is a positive that he has no allegiance or connection to any of the QBs. He may come to the conclusion that the future QB is not on the roster. I would not be surprised to see him make a move in the QB room prior to the season starting.

Could be, but I tend to think both guys will be here in 26.
But overall yah, I'm thinking be ready for anything as a fan - and not just at QB.
Outside of how to work with rest of the bldg, QB is the biggest issue he will be grilled on during his intro press conference.
Like I said in the hire thread, if he doesnt get the QB right? His ceiling will be Spielman. Certainly not terrible, but in the end? The Vikings were .562 during the RS tenure.
I know I'd like something more Finks (78-49-5) than Spielman.
