Against this backdrop of QB Purgatory, the decision to let Darnold walk (imo) was the main reason KAM is no longer GM here..

It's probably the biggest reason. Last year we talked about how much egg would be on our face if Darnold, God forbid, went on to win the Super Bowl. To quote Ally Sheedy in Breakfast Club: "Tons." But I think the huge payouts we gave to the tepid 2025 free agency class played a part as well.

This always kill me. How can we be a top 5 win % team and have nothing to show for it? Every other team in the top 10 has multiple superbowl wins. I feel like the Wilfs have been willing to spend to try to win but this hex just never ends...

I mean.... The team with the lowest win % has more super bowls than us!! Ughhh...

I still don't understand how all that played out like it did, from the Wilfs extended him (when there was clear hesitation) to waiting until he's off scouting the Senior Bowl to let him go. I think it was an easy decision to relieve Kwesi of his duties, but why was that decision not made prior to or right at the end of the season? Who waits an additional three or four weeks before making that decision then inserts a "temp" GM with no scouting experience to oversee an incredibly important draft before commencing with a real GM search? None of it made any rationale sense, but when it's the Wilfs, that's standard operating procedure unfortunately.

Right?

And it's something thats been hanging out there ever since it went down like it did.

Whispers something happened closer to when he was released...I mean the guy was down at the Combine when he got canned right? Regardless of how any of us feel about The Wilfs, thats very uncharacteristic of this ownership.

Exactly. The wilfs just aren't cut out for running a business like an NFL team.

Is this thing STILL on?

It seems like the Wilfs are out of touch with what is going on with the team and maybe they didn't realize Kwesi was in Mobile at the time. From the sound of it, the decision wasn't made until end of season evaluations were underway in New Jersey and it's possible coaches were pretty vocal to ownership about a disconnect between the front office and the coaches. So they decided to pull the plug on Kwesi. Still think if they go with Brez as GM nothing much changes. Will he stand up to the coaches and make his decisions without being swayed by voices in his ear? Think they need to make a clean break and find somebody with a scouting background and let Brez continue to work on contracts and the cap, which he is really good at.

Agreed and it absolutely goes to show how out of touch they are. Any owners worth their salt have a pulse on what's going on within their own building at all times, have done their evaluations prior to seasons end, and act accordingly (and swiftly) based upon those evaluations. You don't do interviews weeks after seasons end then all of a sudden act based on those interviews. AS OWNERS, YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW PRIOR TO SEASONS END! That's just pure negligence but not surprising either considering they basically fly in for game days then fly home to Jersey afterward and this is literally the second time in what, six years, that they have no clue about the dysfunction going on in their own building until well after the fact. All this, along with one of the lowest playoff win totals in the league since they've owned the team, yet some out there still love all things Wilf. It's really incredible

Last football guy I know to own a team was Al Davis, there are no football guys owning teams.

Wilf’s get great grades from players and the league.

Some of their decisions have been influenced by their personal values, it takes some non-fan perspective to understand that.
