Wilf's G. M. Search Statement
https://www.vikings.com/news/general-manager-search-ownership-statement-nfl-2026
EAGAN, Minn. — Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf and Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf on Wednesday released the following statement:
"With the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft, our search for the next general manager of the Minnesota Vikings is underway. This will be a thorough and deliberate process led by ownership, with support from a small internal advisory committee of senior leaders. We have also engaged respected firm TurnkeyZRG to assist in conducting a wide-ranging search that includes experienced football executives, emerging candidates and individuals with diverse professional backgrounds. Our focus is to identify a decisive leader with a clear vision for team building, strong communication skills and the ability to build alignment across an organization. Out of respect for all involved, we do not intend to publicly announce candidates and will provide further comment when the search is complete."

Gotta be honest, I’m a little bummed that they won’t announce the candidates. I’d like the opportunity to see the candidates. Then bitch ad infinitum when they don’t select my preferred guy.
Wait, that’s someone else.

You forgot to mention the main part though...I was right the entire time.

To be fair, critical fans of 31 teams are proven right every year
To me, this makes perfect sense if you are Brez: new challenge, he's knows the organization and regardless of what some of the Twitter-X fanboys think, he's a football guy. Not saying its the right or wrong direction, I'm saying I get it if I'm Brez:

Sources: Vikings' Rob Brzezinski seeking to remove interim GM tag
Personally, I’d like to bring in an outside voice. But, this move has merit too.

It doesn't seem like you'd bother with a search firm if that was the plan.

Many people knew he wasn't qualified.

Wilfs must have missed the memo

Its unfortunate for sure. I think the Wilfs liked the idea of a smart guy with ideas to reinvent how to Draft players with analytics and chomped down on that narrative hard. Didn't work. I think the marriage of analytics and old school scouting is the way to go and that's what the good teams do. I'm ok if they elevate Brez (mostly), but I think I might prefer a younger guy that's been around a winning formula for acquiring talent from successful teams as has been mentioned....like a Alec Halaby type. We'll see.

Zulgad on PD the other day said one reason they went with KAM instead of Poles was he was cheaper. Kinda blew my mind for a minute until I remembered it's the Wilfs we're talking about.

If anyone knows its Judd! 😁
I'll say it again, but the most important job of any general manager is identifying talent in the draft. It's the lifeblood of an organization and because of that, hitting on "outside the box" guys who don't have a scouting background are very few and far between. I can get any math geek to work the salary cap and sign free agents. Give me the guy who can identify and hit on a pro bowl talent in the 5th round. Give me the guy who understands trades and the value of draft picks. Give me the guy who has an actual resume and experience relevant to the job. The Kwesi "swing" set this organization back and the full extent of his draft futility isnt even fully realized yet. It's why we all said this draft was extremely important in infusing this organization with talent and restocking depth. Here's to hoping the moron bro's, who's good football decisions have been few over 21 years, make one this time.

I think it's far more likely Poles left them at the alter when the idea of the "competitive rebuild" and other "mandates" were sprung on him by the Wilfs and he shifted to the Bears, where he was allowed to tear it down and rebuild it however he wanted. Any legitimate GM candidate would have done the same thing. Nobody else was going to hire Kwesi, but he was a stooge just happy to be there and would run things like the owners wanted.
Oh, an interesting watch indeed. Watch the fan base riot.
