Not bad at all, would like to see him in purple. Per Schefty. Always the plan to add a vet to the WR group. Jefferson, Addison, Felton and Jennings probably for this season. Thumbs up, he'd be perfect WR3. Big at 6'3"+. But at what cost?

If Jennings market wasn't where he expected it to be (clearly wasn't since he's still available), he might be willing to take less than his ask for the right situation. Vikings offer a great organization/culture and a HC that loves to throw the football. He might see this as an opportunity to showcase himself even if he's the WR3 behind Jets and Addison. He might value that over going to a bad team where he'd get more targets if the money is close.

He'd be just about the first WR in history to go somewhere that offers less targets but I suppose it's possible.

Thinking more on this, I hope we don't get fleeced here. Talent aside because I do think Jennings is a good player-- his market is soft and there's not much evidence that Kyler Murray or KO's offense will feed 3 receivers. Like I said before I'm surprised the team would spend Jennings money for this role.

Lastly, they're different positions but-- shouldn't Hockenson in theory be our third target? I'm pretty sure he's washed myself but the team brought him back at a sizable number... to do what exactly, if we also bring in a solid WR3?

Our offense confounds me right now and I'll say for the 100th time I'm so glad we focused on defense in the draft.

Kidding right? KOC is probably on the hotseat. Win games or get run out of town. If one of Jefferson or Addison were out for a length of time we're screwed at the position. It's not KOC's $$ and I'm sure he's just fine maxing out the talent on the '26 roster to give him the best chance of remaining employed.

He's not on the hotseat. He's 34-17 playing with what, 8 different starting QBs in 3 years? He's not even close to being out of town and shouldn't be.

I don't think KO's seat is as hot or that he's nearly as desperate as some other fans do I guess. By your logic wouldn't our draft have been loaded with offense? Why trade our best(ish) defender?

To me signing Jennings to big money would be the first desperation move of the offseason, which is why it doesn't make sense to me. But I can see where from your viewpoint it makes perfect sense. Time will tell! I've given up trying to figure out what's going on.

Rubes will be shocked, but I’m all for this guy on a multi year deal, means we don’t have to pay Adderal Addison 25 per.

I like him as an addition that fits the cap calculus, but I like Addison more...Even though I hold my breath with JA every off-season. I think the Vikings/KOC likes Addison a bunch too.

Nothing but a hunch (shrug)

RapSheet is saying both parties knew the contract parameters and are meeting to get something done, wouldn't be surprised if it happens. Sees a good fit. We'll see.

Interesting. Wondering if Jennings came down significantly from what’s being projected. There’s significant snaps at WR3 that are currently unallocated but I can’t help but think a vet iDL (Campbell) wouldn’t give use more bang for the buck. Especially if Frank Smith has a big hand in us running more 21 personnel.

I think the better move would have been to draft a WR from a pretty deep class than to give that kind of money to a #3 WR with no speed. It would be a hard pass for me, but guessing this must have been the plan and why they didn't draft someone.

Felton is inexperienced. Drafting a rookie with even less experience didn't seem like the right approach to me. I figured that they would prioritize WR3 in free agency, right up there with adding a CB. Might be that their lack of cap prevented them from doing so.

I'd like that. We drafted 2 rookies, would love to see a big boy like Campbell show them how its done in 2026. I wonder?

He’s still extremely productive at 39 as well as a tremendous locker room guy. Maybe the new GM will have an adult Make A Wish day and some lucky old fart gets one roster spot selection.

if it were only that simple, how many times a year do we hear about "its a business"

it would be nice if the league would fix the cap so it leveled the playing field between locations based on taxes, but then there are often other things that are higher in states with lower or no income taxes so it should balance out to some extent. ( outliers of course)

There's something about this that just doesn't make a lot of sense. If Jennings wants the kind of snaps and targets that will lead to a big bag, there are better opportunities out there. He won't be any better than WR3 in Minny. And that's WR3 on a team with a good TE. Maybe Jennings sees the Vikings possibly letting Addison walk and signing here represents a huge opportunity to be WR2 on a team with Justin Jefferson.

If the Vikings can get him on a two-year deal, the 2nd year of that deal will be the 1st year of Addison's extension, which will likely be trivial, $5M-$6M maybe. However, if we choose NOT to extend Addison, brightening Jennings' outlook, then we pay Jordan's 5th year guarantee of $18M in 2027, which would seem difficult to swallow with another contract thrown in: Justin $49M, Jordan $18M, Jauan $12 ish. Yikes.

Curious to see how this plays out.
