Schefty: 'WR Jauan Jennings visiting the Vikings today and tomorrow'
Not bad at all, would like to see him in purple. Per Schefty. Always the plan to add a vet to the WR group. Jefferson, Addison, Felton and Jennings probably for this season. Thumbs up, he'd be perfect WR3. Big at 6'3"+. But at what cost?
He's planning on spending a night and a day so must be serious. Why hasn't he signed already / have other suitors?

Depending on the contract that is. Not exactly a robust market left.

Sounds like a pretty high initial salary projection...that teams had no interest in paying. Maybe he's back down to something affordable?
Fron the NinersWire website:
"Jauan Jennings is still a free agent, but he could sign with a team at any moment. The former San Francisco 49ers receiver is meeting with the Minnesota Vikings this week, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. While it's unclear how imminent a signing is, this is the first major indication of a potential deal for Jennings.
The Miami Dolphins are another team reportedly interested in Jennings' services, but they reportedly won't have enough salary cap space to sign him until early June. The Vikings, meanwhile, have around $16 million in cap space but only $10.7 million in effective cap space (once they sign their rookie class). Jennings was projected to earn a $22.61 million a year salary when he entered free agency, but reports indicate teams aren't interest in his contract demands.
Jennings had a career year in 2024 with 77 receptions for 975 yards and six touchdowns, and he caught 55 receptions for 643 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025. He would likely be the Vikings' No. 3 receiver behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addision, if he and Minnesota can agree on a deal.
At the very least, Jennings won't be returning to the 49ers. The team has made that very clear both in their words and their actions. San Francisco signed Christian Kirk and Mike Evans before drafting De'Zhaun Stribling with the No. 33 pick. The team has moved on from Jennings, but the veteran still needs to find a new home."
He might agree to a one year 'show me' deal....Mr. 3rd Down and a hell of a downfield blocker in the run game.
On the plus side, signing him won’t factor into compensation pick calculations. Raiders and Dolphins are bereft of WR talent. It’s going to come down to what he wants to play for.

Can't imagine why. Half that and we'll talk.
Maybe the Vikings can sell him but I'm not seeing it. I'm guessing Jennings not only wants big money, but a multi-year deal, and that just doesn't seem likely with the Vikings paying both Jefferson and Addison big money next year. Vikings can maybe try to sell him on the 1-year prove-it deal in a high-powered offense that he can take to the market next year. But even that doesn't fly much. At best, he'll put up WR3 numbers, Nailor numbers. And Nailor got about half of what Jennings is asking.
If we can get him to agree to a 1-year deal for about $8-10M, he would add a lot to the offense. Only 28, big guy, 6-3, 215, good blocker, good red zone target.

I'd like a bigger WR in that room this year...It'll come down to terms, like always.

Okay, I like this and it seems doable.
Bigger body, for sure. Speed doesn't seem to be an issue as he seems to be able to get wide open often enough. On contested balls, he seems to have good, secure hands.
He would be an upgrade from Nailor. And a serious step up from Tai Felton who we drafted last year.
This would fill the void left without a solid WR picked in the draft.
Also, if you consider the cap space made available from the Greenard trade, it makes the Greenard trade make more sense. Besides the two third round picks, converting the freed up cap space to this player, what's not to like?
Brez is definitely not sitting on his hands. I suspect he's looked at all the options and this didn't just fall out of the sky. He's moving with urgency to improve this roster, but doing it shrewdly. Yeah, if this comes to pass, I would like this.

Huh, Jennings would be aiming a bit higher than they I thought they'd go but there's plenty of WR3 bodies out there.
This front office is flying fast and loose with guys who have an injury history but I suppose that's most players these days.
lot of money for a guy that will be 4th or 5th option on most pass plays. if the reports of his run blocking are legit that would be a big plus over the unknown of Felton. However, If we have money to spend, I would like to see it spent on somebody that is going to make more of a regular impact, if not a full time starter, at least somebody that is going to be in a heavy rotation at a position of regular impact like DL.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
I think the better move would have been to draft a WR from a pretty deep class than to give that kind of money to a #3 WR with no speed. It would be a hard pass for me, but guessing this must have been the plan and why they didn't draft someone.

Maybe this is a way to unload Addison?

Kinda what I was thinking. 11.5/yr is roughly what Nailor got. Different WRs but why not keep the one we know.
Its an overnight visit, so there must some level of seriousness on both sides. Maybe Jennings and his agent have communicated some common sense to the Vikings about a potential number. Hard to say, but they both aren't doing the visit so he can visit the Mall of America.....we'll see if anything gets done. Zero doubt there's always been a plan to nab a vet WRer. Whether its Jennings or not remains to be seen but it will be somebody soon.
If Jennings market wasn't where he expected it to be (clearly wasn't since he's still available), he might be willing to take less than his ask for the right situation. Vikings offer a great organization/culture and a HC that loves to throw the football. He might see this as an opportunity to showcase himself even if he's the WR3 behind Jets and Addison. He might value that over going to a bad team where he'd get more targets if the money is close.
Will Jauan Jennings leave Minnesota before signing a contract with the Vikings?
That's right. The former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver is visiting the Vikings, likely at TCO Performance Center in Eagan, on Tuesday night, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. His visit is scheduled to continue on Wednesday.
Jennings would be an incredible third wide receiver for new quarterback Kyler Murray in head coach Kevin O'Connell's offense. Just imagine a three-wide receiver set with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jennings, with tight end T.J. Hockenson working the middle of the field. The boom potential with that group would be through the roof, and far superior to any lineup with Tai Felton, Myles Price, or undrafted rookie Dillon Bell working in as WR3.
At 6-foot-3 and roughly 210 pounds, Jennings would give the Vikings a big-bodied receiver to complement the smaller, albeit explosive frames of Jefferson and Addison.
Jennings, 28, caught 55 passes for 643 yards and nine touchdowns last season. it was his second consecutive productive season as a key member of San Francisco's offense. In 2024, he played in 15 games and caught 77 balls for 975 yards and six touchdowns.
In his first three seasons with the 49ers, Jennings started six total games while racking up 78 receptions for 963 yards and seven touchdowns, five of which came during his rookie season in 2021.
Other veteran wide receivers still looking for a new team in 2026 include Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, Deebo Samuel, DeAndre Hopkins, Curtis Samuel, Tyreek Hill, Zay Jones, Josh Reynolds, Tim Patrick, Noah Brown, and KhaDarel Hodge, among others.
It became clear that Minnesota would be in the market for a wide receiver since they didn't use any of their picks on the position in the NFL Draft. The undrafted free agents they signed included wide receivers Dillon Bell (Georgia), Shaleak Knotts (Maryland), Marcus Sanders Jr. (Georgia Southern), and Lyke Wysong (Arizona).
If Jennings signs with the Vikings, you'll have to work hard to come up with a better 1-2-3 punch at wide receiver in the NFL.
It's probably better than the Lions' trio of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Isaac TeSlaa. And we'd put Denver's trio of Courtland Sutton, Jaylen Waddle, and Troy Franklin behind them, too. Pittsburgh might argue if Germie Bernard develops into a stud alongside DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman, but for now, it would still be Minnesota at No. 1. We'll see if they can finalize a deal.
