Looking solely at this pick, Brez telling us that they're going to value production over traits was total bullshit.

And honestly? It should be bullshit. Banks is just such a talent and a team need that I get why it was a no brainer. Always a risk with every pick, regardless.

As it should've been.

Huge risk with the foot injuries, like the upside, but he needed to be taken later. Vikings should have looked to move down to offset the huge risk,

I think I heard Caleb Banks say he’s going to play DE (5-technique) in Brian Flores’ 3-4 scheme

Yep, that's his spot. Don't worry, Kayden....your spot on the nose awaits. #WishfulThinkingPipeDream

He might start out at the 5T but he’s going to play all over the line. But, sure, when they release the depth chart he’ll be at 5T leaving the shade for our newest Buckeye.

We've had good luck with #88. Page of course. But 88 was also Randy Moss's number in college. Banks will have to pick another one since the Page jersey number is retired.

More Vikings interim GM Rob Brzezinski on Caleb Banks: "If it wasn’t for the foot, we would have no chance of seeing him where we picked him. So, we looked at it as an opportunity from that standpoint to draft a really unique talent."

I’m thinking 8. Or 98

I think it's a great pick. Definitely a risk, but I think the fit with what Flores is a 10/10, but you're hoping Flores can coach him up a little bit to deal with his leverage issues and consistency. Interviews make him seem coachable.
Not a NT, obviously his height weight says he's a NT, but also sucked at double teams, so definitely not the first thing he should be doing. Should be able to grow into it.

If only we had some kind of freakish monster at NT we could obtain....you know, just some ridiculous unmovable mountain inside. 🤔
pssst......
Lee Hunter would be fantastic at 49 too. Another 330 pounder who is super quick.
