I guess its called having an opinion, lmao....has both GB and Minnesota way below .500. Mentions that the NFC is 'wide open' now (which is funny) but really only shows Detroit as a threat to them and maybe the Rams...maybe. The rest of the NFC he's downgraded big time, so not really following any supposed logic. Young California writer following California teams in his short career, not sure how familiar he is with the NFC.

I don't think the author put a lot of thought into it. Lions lost both coordinators and their road schedule is a minefield. I think the division is up for grabs.

So a 14 win team rebuilds its IOL and its DL and replaces Sam Darnold with JJ McCarthy and wins half as many games? I'm not expecting 14 wins again, but I think JJ would have to play pretty poorly for this team to win less than 10. Every year it seems like the national media forgets who is on this team.

I lowkey think this guy is making horrible takes across the board just for clicks and engagement. I think you could have your wife make as good of predictions just based off how much she likes teams jerseys.
I think if I were making this as an impartial person, I would go:
• Lions 12-5 (Hard to duplicate last year after losing both coordinators, but still talented)
• Packers 10-7 (Same as last year, but regress to the mean a game)
• Vikings 10-7 (Vikings have too good of a roster to be bad, but can’t trust a rookie QB to be great)
• Bears 8-9 (Bears going to Bear)

We have a really tough schedule, plus add in the Europe trip and Thursday games, so is going to be a challenge, but I would not be surprised to see this team battling for the division at the end of the year. Darnold had an amazing year last year and maybe JJM does not match it stats wise, but I think he brings a lot of other intangibles to the team that could potentially make us an overall better team.
I want to know what the guy was drinking when he put the Panthers at 10-7, I would definitely take the under on that! Also, how is that the Cowboys underachieve every year and yet everyone picks them do well the following year.

Like how bad of a QB, would we have to have for us to end up with sub-.500 season? I legit think we could take the ball out of JJM’s control and run the ball 65% of the time and still win 9 games. I think we could win 9 games with so many QBs. I think we could win 9 games with Darnold, Dimes, or Mullens all of whom we passed on for JJM.

What we dont talk about much is that The Vikings feasted on non-playoff teams last year, going 11-0 in those games.
They were 3-3 in six games against postseason teams, not including their 27-9 loss to Los Angeles Rams in the wild card round.

Hence the FA acquisitions. Hopefully improving weaknesses. Drafting a starting OG to make an improved line maybe top 5. Two of those losses came against Detroit, so that is really the hill they need to climb. So 3-1 against postseason teams that weren't the Lions....not sure that's so bad. I really don't know how many games they'll win, but it won't be 14. The hope is to have a QB with ice water in his veins and one that makes plays in crucial situations under pressure. Wins big playoff games. Whether that's this season, who knows? Odds are probably not. But the idea is to stop shitting the bed in the playoffs very soon, change the narrative. I liked the ride Uncle Sammy took us on, but he looked more nervous than a 17 year old's first time at the Bunny Ranch in some big spots.
