Placeholder For WR Prospects

Scouts are suspicious of Tyler Johnson's speed, but he chose not to run at the combine - and now pro days are canceled. Will the doubt make him slide?
There are going to be a lot of prospects in that same boat who were hurt, elected not to run, or are smaller school guys who teams won't get a second chance to evaluate. This would also hinder the evaluation of guys with character concerns. It is definitely going to force teams to evaluate differently. Do they trust the tape, do guys with any sort of red flag fall further than usual, do smaller school guys end up going undrafted & become RFAs, & will there be a bias towards guys who attended the Senior Bowl, Shrine Game, Combine, & local prospects? If a team plays this situation right, they could come out big winners, but a lot of the usual safety nets are gone.

What about Okudah?

He will be l-o-o-o-o-ng gone by the time the Vikings pick at 22.  Probably before CJ - probably.

Totally agree, but if you look at what Geoff said, it seemed he was saying only Henderson would be picked by draft pick number 22.

That was probably just an oversight. Okudah isn't really part of the conversation because he will likely go top 5 or 6.

Can a move up and move out of the first be on the horizon?

1st, 3rd, next year 4th to move up from 22 to 13/14?  Grab Kinlaw

25 and a 5th for Indy’s 34 and 44?

13 - Kinlaw DT
34 - Winfield S
44 - Hall CB
2nd - Niang OL
3rd - Johnson WR
3rd* - Hurts QB

Resign Klein, grab Leary.
Move Harris for a 3rd round pick
Sign a FA DE (Wake, Vernon, Griff)

I love an OL of Reiff-Leary-Bradburry-Klein-ONeil and def a DL of Hunter-Kinlaw-Pierce-Fedi/Wake

This is a good breakdown of the top 12 to 15 receivers.

One player he leaves off who probably fits in towards the end of his list is Bryan Edwards.

On a related note, if you don't follow Eric Crocker, it's time. He's a former NFL corner who's become a pretty good twitter scout IMO. I think he only scouts DBs and WRs.

It was definitely an oversight. I didn't even really consider Okudah as a practical option.

If you told me I could get Jefferson or Ruggs at #22, Jones at #25 and a 3T in the 2nd I'd be all over that. Otherwise, the depth of this Class would seem to indicate that the best value is in the 3rd.

It's so easy to want one of the guys with true #1 WR potential, though. Adam isn't getting any younger. Guys like Pittman, Johnson, Ceephus et al profile more as #2 guys IMO. Which means you're looking for another again in a few years

Of course, Lamb, Juedy, Ruggs and Jefferson may all very well be gone by #22 rendering it a moot point. Will be fascinating to see how many runs on certain position types happen this year. Do all the Tackles go early, artificially moving someone up like Jackson or Cleveland in the process? Will the same happen at Receiver? Or will guys slide? Going to be a fun watch.
I know we just lost Diggs, but I really have no interest in the Vikings addressing that position in the first round until our Oline, Dline, and CB positions get taken care of. To me, especially if they extend Cook, this needs to happen first. If anything, Diggs proves we can find WR talent in the middle to late rounds of the draft and with this year's WR depth, I'm willing to take that gamble to prioritize the trenches and fill the void left by losing 5 DB's , our Nose Tackle, and our Right DE to Free Agency.
