This fits right in with everything that I see out of Trump on a near-daily basis though. This, along with Woodward's new book, where he has hundreds of hours of taped interviews, really starts to paint a pretty grim picture of the leadership of our country at the moment. I would be all for the 25th Amendment being invoked to remove the President if this is all true. Any red-blooded American should be as well.

It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall.
The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.
I would know. I am one of them.
To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.
But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.
That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office.

Well you don’t have to believe it, but it’s more than a little telling to me that Trump and others inside the administration do. Have you heard of a single denial or declaration of “fake news”? All I’ve heard so far is Trump calling for the NYT to release the auhor’s name to the government and Sarah Sanders calling for the “coward to resign.”

no red blooded American should ever act rashly on the word of any anonamous source unless lives are in immediate danger. this countries core systems and beliefs are founded on innocent until proven guilty... and while I dont think Trump is innocent of much anything, I think he deserves to face his accusers publicly just as any other American should be able to do if actions are being considered unless their lives are in danger.... but since the clintons are out of the picture I think this person should be willing to come forward if the goal is to have Trump impeached, if it wasnt why would they risk blowing their cover or making the president wary to their deeds? IMO this is all bull shit made up so that a media person can get their fiction printed. once again no accountability in journalism. screaming fire in a crowded theater 24-7-365 in America with no ramifications.
Not sure why the Trumpkins are so upset about this. I remember talking to a few of his supporters before the election who would actually acknowledge his instability and incompetence, but would argue that we had nothing to worry about because there would be people in Washington who would prevent him from pushing the country off a cliff. This op-ed confirms that there are indeed people in Washington doing exactly that. So why the bluster? I sorta see this person as someone who wanted to calm fears on the RIGHT side of the aisle. Think about it--Republicans get what they want (conservative supreme court nominees, tough guy immigration policy, tax cuts, etc), and now know that the worst inclinations of our "Very Stable Genius" that we ALL fear will be held in check.

You don't believe it? Trump sure does. And he's not laughing much about it either, calling this person "treasonous" and "gutless" and saying that he must be "turned over to the government at once!" I'm just saying that he's too stupid to see how this person might actually benefit him.
