It's curious to me with backup QB's flying off the board daily why we haven't signed anybody with McCarthy being our only real QB on the roster. I think Rypien would be a longshot to stick as a real alternative. I can only assume the delay might be related to Rodgers making a decision, otherwise that backup QB cabinet is getting mighty bare. I think we need at least two new quarterbacks. Flacco, Winston, anybody else out there float anybodys boat?

The longer this goes, the sicker the feeling I get that Rodgers might actually be in play.

Please…just sign Flacco or Winston…or literally ANYONE but A-aron

Wondering if it won't end up being Minshew, when all's said and done. The injury needs constant updates, etc, but we've got a very good training/rehab staff....
Build on 14-3, take back the NFCN, break the ****ing curse. Simple.

I could care less about the back up QB. If you need him you are screwed anyway! I remember how great Keenum was, but how far did it get you? Everyone wants a veteran back up QB behind JJM, but I wouldn't mind if they brought in a developmental draft choice KOC could work with. Look at the long list of free agent QB's available. Do any of them have the potential to win a Lombardi?
JJM is the guy. Should he get injured, the Vikings are screwed. But they would have a better draft choice next year, and the developmental guy would get some NFL experience to help determine if he could be the guy. I'm not sure why so many teams hire so many QB scrubs to be their back ups beyond the fact they are cheap.

You have to have a guy on the roster who is at least capable of winning a couple games if needed because starting quarterbacks get injured every year and those couple games you need a competent backup could be the difference between your team making the playoffs, or not making the playoffs. So I get what you are saying, but it is an important position, especially when we have a starter coming off a knee injury who's never played  regular season down yet.

I think they might want Kirko after he's released. I don't think its an Aaron Rodgers thing, no offer has been made to him from Minnesota. Or its some other plan. Signing Minshew or Mac Jones I don't think is something they were looking to do. I think the Michael Silver thing might have been more about Kirk than Aaron: Cousins would be an amazing mentor. I think Rodgers is choosing between the Giants (who are offering more) and the Steelers.

JJM is QB1. Period.

This whole backup QB thing is becoming curiouser and curiouser. A couple good options disappear every day, and the Vikings don't seem to be too concerned.

Like I’ve been saying, from a football perspective, Rodgers makes a lot of sense. It makes perfect sense, and I think that's why it's being batted around. But from every other perspective, it makes no sense. He's not just a conspiracy theorist whacko and psuedoscientist, he's also a douche and locker room poison. If the Vikings are considering him, he has to come with guard rails written into his contract. Really hard to believe KOC would want to add that potential chaos to his carefully crafted culture.

Is there a way Kirk Cousins can save us from this nightmare? Someone? Anyone?
