If you want to have a run first team then you need a better offensive line.  They do good against bad run defenses.  But when they face a top notch run defense there is no adjustment.
The Vikings should have went to short passes and hurry up offense early.  After the first pitiful series.
4 OCs and 4 systems in 4 years.
Meanwhile the defense has the same system and DC since 2014.
Is it a wonder the offense is confused?
Zimmer will likely  never allow a no huddle O since that is potentially even less time for his D to rest if the plays arent successful.  of course when they are allowing the opposing Os to have 5 to 7 minute drives themselves whats the difference?

I don't care if Hitler is taking snaps from Goring, and passing to Himmler...I want a damn Lomarbdi trophy before I die.

I don't give a damn about Kaep's politics, I just don't think he's any good
Hitler stared down his first read. Poland knew it was coming, but they couldn't stop it.

Chicago did this last year in the final game.  They have these drives that take a long time but are not too many plays.  I know the defenders have to perform on the plays but there is plenty of time between plays to rest.
Zimmer has a problem with OCs that think for themselves and want to run a 21st century offense.

I would agree on Kap... not sure on the Hitler part lol.   Kap was pulled because he was losing most games and they went to Smith.   Reality is a running qb only has 2-3 years to make that work then he has to develop into a pocket passer or he's done because teams don't want to pay huge coin to a guy who is going to take a pounding like a rb and as the body gets beat up and defenses adjust the running gets taken away anyway.

Also Kap has mostly been on the sidelines making noise for a few years and spending time in court suing the league; a few actual offers to play have been rejected in various ways and the reality is he doesn't want to play or he'd have taken low $ to be a backup and work his way onto a field somewhere.  The desire is not there and imho neither is the pocket passing talent.

when the league said QBs lose their protection as a passer in a read option style offense,  that was the end of the road for Kapernick.  he was good when the defenders couldnt hit him when he held onto the ball instead of making the pitch,  but once they said he becomes a runner and is not afforded the same protections he started to get beat on ,  and that started the slide.

His last season playing
12 games on a shit SF team
90 QBR, 16 TDs (plus 2 running) 4 INTs

the man can throw it. he can run it.  and he changes the game when on the field.

there are so many positives avout this one from all angles.  he can take a low paying deal to prove it. he joins a SB caliber roster. if he ends up playing and playing well, he is the biggest story in football.

For the team. A new breathe of fresh air.  The locker room is one bad KC performance from a mutiny regardless.

His arm under Kubiak (who was the last real NFL mind who wanted to take a shot on him) could be dangerous with our WRs and TEs.  His running ability would be a major boost over what we have now with this porous OL.  Our running attack with the threat of him keeping the handoff would create even more opportunities as 8 in the box would be spread wide.

i see a lot of “I wish we had Case’s ability to keep a play going” or “we should have drafted Lamar Jackson” well this guy can be both.

now for the elephant in the room.  The Vikings would be lauded for bringing him on.  He has actually donated $25,000 to MSPS urban food programs.  The progressive TC and leaning center left Minnesota would make the most sense for him.  The NFL
and its partnership with Jay Z would fit nicely from a social angle.  Listen i dont care about most of the social points, but what I know is this, the NFL is a business and its better for your team to be on the right side of the money making arm of the shield than against it.

Kaepernick coming in and revitalizing this offense, turning us back into legit threats to win the Super Bowl would be the biggest story in the NFL and maybe sports this year.  Think about it.

Worst case, you sign him. Kirk sucks, Kaep plays and sucks.  You move on from both in the near future.  Shows that you are trying to win regardless of mistakes you previously made which is all fans can ask for.

Like others have said,  hes been offered prove it type deals and turned them down.  Iirc I am pretty sure pete Carroll tried to get him into Seattle and he rejected the offer.  I have heard of others but the only one I can say I heard get press was Seattle if I am remembering correctly.
