Unfortunately, that is the reason that the NFLPA does not want the season extended to 18 games by moving 2 pre-season games to the regular season.  Even more exposure to injuries.  Quite a dilemma.

Not sustainable...Anyone hear the Kornheiser/Costas discussion the other day on the No Fun League? I agreed with much of what they had to say regarding the demise of the League in the future.

I guess the injuries are on pace with last year. Its not worse, trending the same. But its an issue when your stars are getting injured for the year EVERY year.

Thursday night games don't help either.

The Thursday night games have really lost their luster for me.  I wouldn't mind if the NFL got rid of them and just kept the Thanksgiving Day games.

Getting rid of the CBS/NBC TNF games would reduce each team's salary cap by $7 million. Don't expect them to go away any time soon.

switch the thursday night games to saturday night games,  give the players 2 more days to rest up and recover,  but still take another prime time slot.

Saturday night is a primetime deadzone. No way the NFL would switch to that time spot. People are out doing things or at home doing things on Friday and Saturday nights, not in front of their TVs anywhere near as much as other days of the week. They would also go up against college football prime games as that demographic is used to college football on Saturdays. No way that happens.

wow, didn't realize that.  As to the injuries, I agree.  It is probably about the same, but a few stars go down and it gives the talking heads something to yammer on and on about.
