Update: no dice, minority comp picks apparently only for Head Coaches & GM hires.

Round 3 – Pick 82 (pick 18)
Round 3 – Pick 97 (compensatory #33)
Round 5 – Pick 161 (pick 23)
Round 6 – Pick 194 (pick 15)
Round 7 – Pick 234 (pick 18)
Round 7 – Pick 240 (pick 24)
Four picks in the first three rounds.
I like that better than Trader 'Ric getting a boatload of 6th and 7th rounders who were never going to make the roster.

I really think they should get rid of the comp picks, think they really hurt the draft. We made a terrible move not resigning Darnold, why should we get awarded with a #3 for that. Every team has the ability to manage their cap and keep their own players, they should not get free picks for guys they no longer wanted or did feel was worth the salary.

Well it’s not a reward, it’s a trade off, & in this case not a very good one at that. It’s part of a formula or strategy that smart teams take advantage of. Teams can’t afford to sign or retain all their players, hence the compensatory system.
